GOLD, SILVER OR GLITTER?

 Morning Everyone,

A new challenge starts at As You Like It today and we are asking whether you prefer to use gold, silver or glitter on your cards.

I do like all three, but I've chosen glitter for my DT card as it seemed to go more with the image which has kindly been provided by the sponsor -

I have coloured the image with copics and cut out with 2 mini scalloped edgers from MFT.  I have added glitter to the snow, the snowman's pom pom and the little snowball held by one of the squirrels.  The background paper is from a Whimsy Stamps pad.

I hope you can join us, only one more challenge now running up to Christmas.  I have done quite a bit of shopping for the big day now so getting there.  I like to be organised by the last two weeks so I can concentrate on food.

Whatever you're doing today, have a good one.

GUEST DESIGNER

Morning,

Today I am delighted to be a Guest Designer at November Rudolph Days challenge where anything Christmas goes.

For my card I have heat embossed a tree from a Whimsy Stamps set in gold and coloured with zig markers in rainbow colours.  I had to have a search through my stash for a suitable sentiment and heat embossed this in gold too.  I cut out with my Spellbinders arch dies, mounted onto gold sheen card and then made the base card with the largest of the arched dies.  It is quite a small card compared to those I normally make, but I don't think it matters for a Christmas card.

Would like to enter:

Colourful Options - rainbow colours

Thank you Helen for asking me to be a Guest DT, thank you for visiting and I will be back later in the week.

XMAS POSTAGE COLLAGE

 Morning Everyone,

A really wet morning here today, but at least the snow has all gone.  I've been having a play with my postage collage set and used the Christmas stamps, mainly in reds and pinks.

I've used Altenew inks for the stencil, together with some Nuvo paste for the gold bits, and a Waffle Flower Royal Mail stamp set.  The outside edge comes with another stencil set from Waffle Flower.

I would like to enter:

Paper Fun Days - Anything Goes
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
Penny's Paper Crafty - Anything Goes
Polkadoodles - Anything Goes
Creative Knockouts - Tis the Season

Going out for Sunday lunch later so that will be nice. Have a good day whatever you are doing.  I will be back soon.

FAVOURITE EMBELLISHMENT

Morning Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking you to share a project containing your favourite embellishment.

I do love using pearls and lace, but because of the style of more modern cards, lace seems to have gone out of favour.  I do like to use it with this type of card though.  I have distressed all the edges of the Pion design paper and gone round with my sewing machine.  Lots of Wild Orchid crafts flowers,  lace and pearls used too.

The sponsor for the chalenge is:

with a prize of 3 digital stamp sets for the lucky winner

You can pop over to the challenge here where you can see the inspiration from the rest of the team.

I would like to enter:

GUEST DESIGNER

Morning Everyone,

I am delighted to have been asked to be a Guest Designer at We Love Stamping this month where the theme is Christmas or Anything Goes.

I decided to get this stamp out again.  It is an old wooden stamp from  Stampendous which I have coloured with copics.  It is quite a large stamp so it didn't need much else on the card.  I have used a sheet of  glittery paper from a First Edition pad, gold sheen card for the mats and gold sparkly ribbon to finish it off.

I would like to enter this into:

Beautiful Blossoms - Anything floral
Simon Says Weds - Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Allsorts - Magic of the Season

Thank you for visiting and thank you to Brenda and the team at We Love Stamping for having me as a Guest DT.  See you soon,

FAVOURITE CRITTER?

Morning Everyone,

Today is the start of a new challenge at As You Like It and we are asking you to share a project featuring your favourite critter.

For domestic animals it's defintely dogs, but of the wild animals I do love pandas.  They are such soft gentle giants and they always look so sad with their big black eye patches.

I have stamped two of them from a Simon Says Stamp set and coloured everything with copics. I fussy cut the balloons, present and one of the hats and added them to the card.  The streamers are from The Greetery        and the sentiment from a MFT set.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

with a voucher for the lucky winner

I would like to enter:

Allsorts - Cute/Cuddly
Simon Says Weds - Anything Goes
Crafty Gals - Anything Goes

I look forward to seeing all the critter cards in the new challenge. Thank you for your visit and Happy Halloween!

SANTA

Hello Everyone,

I have been making a few cards recently for a charity that sends cards to children in hospital and thought it was a good opportunity to try and use up some snippets.  This is what I have made with snippets of red and white hammered cardstock to add onto cards.

They are made from a Simon Says Stamp die bought pre-loved.  I've coloured the faces with copics and quite enjoyed putting them together whilst watching tv in the kitchen.  These are some of the cards I've made:

I've managed to use papers I wouldn't normally pick and have also used a few images from old Christmas craft magazines, which I was reluctant to throw away.  Not finished with them yet and I still have to finish the insides.

This card used a whole sheet of paper from a doodlebug pad and I'm pleased to have made use of it as I couldn't think of what I would do with it before.

I am entering this card into:

Simon Says Weds - Christmas
Rudolph Days October - Anything Christmas

and the Santas into the Snippets Playground.

I will see you again on Thursday.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

 Morning Everyone,

A new challenge is starting over at As You Like It and we would like you to showcase a project using your favourite of either ribbon or twine.

I do use both, sometimes twine for more masculine cards, but I much prefer ribbon for the style of card I've made for this challenge.  I have used an old art pad image from LOTV and papers from Pion Design, which have been distressed and my sewing machine has come out to play again .  I must say it's a lot quicker than stitching by hand which is how I used to do it.

A short and sweet post today. You can pop over to the challenge here to see the inspiration from the DT.

I would like to enter:

Paper Funday challenge - Anything Goes

Have a good day,

PAINTED FLOWERS

 Morning Everyone,

This is a card with a first attempt at using Painted Flowers from Altenew.  I've had them for quite a while bought pre-loved from Ebay, but have only had a practice with them so far so thought it was about time I had a play.

I've stamped them using Altenew's mini ink cubes in shades of orange and Versafine for the black outlines.
The sentiment is from Creative Expressions and mini scalloped die from MFT.  I made a few little dots using a circle die and glossy accents as orange seems to be one of the colours I am short of in my stash!

I would like to enter:

Beautiful Blossomes - Anything Floral
Creative moments - Monochrome
Classic Design - Anything Goes
Crafty Calendar - Anything Goes
Stamping Sensations - Anything Goes/Autumn Colours

Thank you for your visit and have a good day.

SQUARE OR NOT?

Good Morning Everyone,

A new challenge starts today over at As You Like It and we are asking you to share a project showcasing your favourite of either square or not card base.

I do prefer square, it always seems easier for layouts and it also gives me the opportunity to use a whole 6x6 sheet without leaving any snippets.  I have way too many snippets and keep them in plastic boxes according to colour.

Today's card is a more masculine one using an image from a Hunkydory pad called Woodland Animals and all the images are useful when your're stuck for a 'man' card.  The papers are also from the pad and the sentiment is heat embossed in white onto kraft.  Twine has been added for a bit more interest as it's a very simple card with no added embellishments.

GUEST DT

Morning Everyone,

I am Guest DT over on the Critter Crazy challenge this month where you can make anything featuring a critter.

I have chosen to use this cute Lee Holland elephant and coloured him with copics.  The sentiment is computer generated and I've printed that in a grey to match the image.  Grass die is from CC designs and the mini scalloped edgers from MFT.  Three pearls and a tiny butterfly finish it off.

Thank you for looking and I hope you can pop over to the challenge here where you can see inspiration from the DT.

I would like to enter:

HENNAH ELEMENTS

 Morning Everyone

I wanted to enter the challenge over at Seven Hill Crafts where the theme is to use Shades of Autumn as shown on the chart below.

I decided to use Hennah Elements from Altenew which I've coloured with copics.  I was only going to fussy cut a couple of them but after an inking hiccup had to cut the already stamped ones out and start again so they all ended up being fussy cut.  The upside to that was that I could manoeuvre them whichever way I wanted and this is how it ended up.  The sentiment has been heat embossed in white and I've added a could of enamel dots for a bit of interest.

This is the palette for the colours:

So I would like to enter:

SevenHills Crafts - Shades of Autumn
Creative Knockouts - All Stitched Up (square stitched die used)
Simon Says Weds - Anything Goes
Digichoosday - Anything Goes
Allsorts - Anything Goes

It looks as though it's going to be a sunny day here today after quite a chilly start so I may do some tidying up in the garden.  Have a good weekend whatever you may be doing.

WITH SYMPATHY

 Morning Everyone,

This is a card I've had in my drafts for a few weeks.  Not the sort of card you like to make but I felt as though I had to as the person who would read it does like to receive my cards.

I was short of ideas at the time so had a browse through Pinterest and this is what I came up with.
I cut a rectangular template with a die and inked three shades of blue through it.  The silhouette stamps are old ones from Stampin Up and the sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp set. It was cut out with a stitched rectangle die and glued onto black card.

I would like to enter:

Allsorts - Get Well/With Sympathy
Classic Design - Anything Goes

Thank you for visiting and have a good day.

FAVOURITE DIE?

Morning Everyone,

Today is the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It  and we are asking you to share a project using your favourite die or punch if you don't have any dies.

I love all my mini scalloped dies.  I have circles and squares as well as my edger dies which come in a variety of shapes.  I think they add a bit of interest to a card without being overpowering.

I have used one on this card with a snippet of spotty paper underneath.  The floral cluster and sentiment are from Simon Says Stamp.  I have fussy cut the flowers to add onto the scalloped piece and made a few more enamel type dots to match with a circles die and glossy accents.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

with a voucher for the lucky winner.

I look forward to seeing your lovely entries and have a good rest of the week.

WINTER FLORA

 Morning Everyone,

As part of my crafty day yesterday I managed to finish the image on my card below and get it made onto a card.

It is a digi image called Winter Flora from Power Poppy and when I had finished colouring with copics I thought it warranted an older style paper so out came my First Edition papers called A Christmas Story. I have matted all layers with a gold paper and also heat embossed the sentiment from LOTV in gold.  I was a bit worried how the sentiment would turn out as it is a grey rubber one so had to have a practice on a piece of scrap first to make sure it was straight.

The card doesn't look it's best in the photo, but I can assure you everything is straight.  I think it's the dotty paper that gives the impression that it looks a bit wonky.

I would like to enter:

We Love Stamping - hand coloured image

Thank you for your visit and I will be back later in the week.

HO HO HO

 Hello Everyone,

I hope you've had a good weekend.  It's been such a miserable day here today I've been having a play in the craft room and managed to get two cards finished.

I have a basket of unused stamps and after having a search through it I thought I would colour this stamp up.

It's from a rubber set by LOTV called North Pole and I haven't used any of them!  The stamp isn't that big so the finished card is a C6 size.  I have coloured with copics to match the little snippets of paper top and bottom and used my mini scalloped die to edge the image and a red mat for the whole thing.  Liquid pearls and glitter have also been used.

I would like to enter:

Peace on Earth challenge- Anything Goes Christmas (I have used the colours from the inspiration board)

LAYERED OR FLAT?

Morning Everyone,

I hope you are all well.  We're just getting over anotthr bout of Covid in our house for the second time and just beginning to come out of it now.

I haven't felt like crafting much but did manage to make this simple card for the new challenge over at   As You Like It where we would like to see your favourite of either layered or flat projects.

My cards always have layers even if, like this one, they are flat enough to go normal letter size.  I only tend to go bigger if I know a card is going to be hand delivered.  I have used a precoloured image from an old LOTV art pad and cut it out with a Spellbinders die.  The sentiment is from a Penny Black set and heat embossed in gold and the papers are also old LOTV.

SKETCHBOOK BOUQUET

 Morning Everyone,

I have a card to share today made with Taylored Expressions Sketchbook Bouquet stamp.

Initially I stamped the flowers directly onto the card, coloured with copics and then masked it off to make a background, but big mistake and the background was terrible so I had to cut the flowers out as I couldn't waste them.  I splattered a new background first with gold watercolour paint and then stuck the bouquet on top.

I thought it was going to be a bin job but didn't come out too badly in the end.  The sentiment is from LOTV and is stamped in gold metallic.

I would like to enter:

Thank you for reading and I hope to be back soon.

FAVOURITE COLOURING MEDIUM

Morning Everyone,

It's the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking you to share a project using your favourite colouring medium, i.e. pencils, markers, inks etc.

I have used copic markers from the beginning of my card making journey so I am more used to them than anything, but I do have a go at using Zig marker sometimes, but normally with flowers. I've also had a go with pencils but find they take much longer.

For my card I have coloured these two images from the MFT Picture Perfect Party Animals stamp set which I bought second hand but not as yet used.  I cut them out with stitched squares, matted with black card and used papers to match the colours of the ballooons.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

BUGS, FEATHERS OR FUR

 Morning Everyone,

It's time for a new challenge over at As You Like It as we are asking you to share a project using your favourite of either Bugs, Feathers or Fur.

My favourite has to be fur.  I think animals are cuter and there are plenty of diffent ones to choose from.
For my card I have used a Colorado Craft Co. stamp and coloured with copics.  I had another play on my sewing machine and tried the wavy pattern you see on some cards.  I quite like it.  It makes a change from using stiched dies all the time.  I've also added glitter to the snow, a die cut snowflake from my snowfalke box and a pearly one on top of that.

I hope you will be able to join us and the sponsor this time is:

RUDOLPH

Morning Everyone,

This is a card that has been on my unfinished pile for a while so I thought I'd get it finally completed.

It's a Stamping Bella stamp called Rudolph & Christmas Lights which I have had for ages and never used.  I have coloured with copics to match the background paper colours and added glossy accents to each light (although you can't see that in the photo!).  The sentiment came with the stamp and a strip of red ribbon finishes it off.  I quite enjoyed colouring this little fella, he's so cute.

CATS OR DOGS?

Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking whether you prefer cats or dogs.

It's definitely dogs for me.  I've never owned a cat but have had dogs.  I just love how loving and loyal they are and how they come and cuddle up on the sofa at night.   It's heartbreaking when they go though.  We lost one of ours earlier this year and I still miss him a lot.

For my card I have used this old Bugaboo image called Party Pups.  I have coloureed them with copics and used a streamers die from The Greetery and sentiment die from Lawn Fawn. The streamers, sentiment and the orange striped paper were all from snippets to match the colours on the pups.

I hope you can join us and all the fab inspiration from the rest of the DT can be seen here.

I would like to enter:

FAVOURITE NON CARD PROJECT

Morning Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at As You Like It  and this time we would like to see your favourite non-card projects.

I have made some fun Christmas  pom pom tags for the younger members of the family.  I always seem to run out of tags and end up making some in a hurry, so I thought I would get ahead of the game this year.  I got the pom pom idea from Pinterest and after searching through my scraps of Christmas papers I found some with suitably small patterns.

They are made by die cutting an oval in white card then cutting it down the middle and fastening the two halves together at the top with a small strip.  Patterned paper was cut with the same oval and glued on.    Turn up cuffs were made by stamping the same sentiment, either in red or by heat embossing in white, and cutting them into small rectangles and adding to the bottom of the hat.  I made small pom poms in colours to match each tag and glued them on together with twine.  The insides of the tags have been left blank for my own message.

MONSTER PARTY

 Morning Everyone,

When I was searching through my digi images for something last week I came across this Bugaboo image and thought it would be a fun image to colour.

I had a look through my mountains of papers and found some brightly coloured pieces and so coloured my monsters with copics to match.  They were cut out with a notched square die and matted with black and then I had this mad idea to get my sewing machine out and use that around the edges.  Normally when I want stitches I sew by hand, but I fancied having a go at zig zag stitch across the joins of the papers.  I hadn't even used my machine for zig zag before so had to have a practice on some scrap.  They worked really well so I was quite pleased for a first attempt.  My straight stitching went a bit wonky though, especially when I reached the corners, but they don't look too bad.

I finished it off with a few enamel dots, a stitched banner die for the sentiment and a Sending die from SSStamp.

Typing this on Sunday night after watching Emma Raducanu get beat in the tennis, which was a bit disappointing as she had played so well up to now.

FAVOURITE TWO COLOUR COMBO

Morning Everyone,

It's time for the start of a new challenge over at As You like It and we are asking you to shar your projects with your favourite two colour combination.

I like grey with most colours, but this bright pink really stands out so well with it.  I have heat embossed the Altenew Statement flowers in silver and coloured them with my Zig markers.  After fussy cutting them out I placed them onto the white base which has been trimmed with an old Spellbinders edging die.  The sentiment is from a Clearly Besotted set and has also been heat embossed in silver.

EMBOSSING FOLDER

 Morning Everyone,

This is a first for me at this technique.  I have used a Simon Says Stamp embossing folder called Blossom Field and coloured it with copics.

The inks seemed to soak in quite a lot and whether it's because the paper has been stretched a lot I'm not sure, but I don't think I will be trying it again in a hurry, not with copics anyway.  I have used a happy die, which I think is from WPlus9.  I've had it a long time and don't keep all my dies in their packets so can't quite remember.  The 'birthday' was heat embossed in white.

I would like to enter:

WITH OR WITHOUT WORDS

 Morning Everyone,

It's the start of a new challenge over at As You Like it and we are asking if you prefer your projects to be with or without words/sentiment.

I always have some sort of words on my cards even if it's just a "hello". I like to know what the card is for when I'm making it otherwise it would feel unfinished.

I have used an image kindly provided by our sponsor:

I printed the image twice, firstly onto a piece of blue designer paper with the sentiment and then onto copic friendly paper.  The image was coloured with copics and then I cut out the balloon and the basket and stuck them onto the blue paper.  The cloud outlines are from Lawn Fawn.

STATEMENT FLOWERS

 Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all well.  I've had a nice afternoon of crafting and managed to get this card finished.

It's an Altenew stamp called Statement Flowers.  I stamped with a grey Memento ink for a change and coloured with copics.  I wasn't quite sure how the card was going to end up so I fussy cut the image to make it easier to experiment with layout etc.  I ended up by placing it on top of a Tuck In Scribble die from Tattered Lace, cut in grey and just added a sentiment heat embossed in white and a few dew drops.

Hello Everyone,

Now that my daughter's wedding is over I can get back to some crafting again.  We had a wonderful day and even though it was a bit chilly on Saturday we didn't let it ruin the day.

Another card made using the Woodware Sneakers stamp.  I've used the same paper pad as my last card with the stamp, but a different layout.

This card was for my niece and I have paper pieced with the star paper and coloured the white bottom of the sneakers with grey copics.

FAVOURITE EMBOSSING METHOD

Morning Everyone,

First of all I'm sorry if I haven't visited your blogs lately.  Our daughter is getting married on Saturday and things have been a bit hectic with preparations and we have visitors arriving today so lots to do.

We have a new challenge over at As You Like It and we're asking for your favourite embossing method.  Mine is definitely heat embossing, especially on Christmas cards. I love all the shine.

Not had much time for crafting but this card was in my partly made pile so I finished it off for the challenge.  I've heat embossed the background stamp from Pinkfresh Studio and coloured the berries in with copics.  I've also added glossy accents to the berries but this doesn't show in the photo.  The sentiment is an old one from Clearly Besotted, also heat embossed in gold.
