COSMOS FAIRY

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you are all keeping well and had a good week.  I do like this week in between Christmas as it gives me a chance to relax and do just what I please.  The days do fly by though even when you're not doing a lot!

I thought I would share this card today which is an image from Colour of Love called Cosmos Fairy.

I have coloured her with copics and simply mounted onto black card with papers to match.  The sentiment is from LOTV.

I don't make New Year's resolutions, but I have pulled out all my stamps which I have bought and never used and put them into a box on their own, so I'm going to see how much that goes down by the end of 2022.

Thank you for visiting and I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year. Let's hope it will be better than the last two!

PRESENTS GALORE

Morning Everyone,

I hope you have all had a good Christmas.  A very quiet one here, apart from Christmas Eve, when we had the family round, but it's been nice to relax after the build up.

This is the card I've made for the Grand Prize Draw at Pixie's Snippets Playground.  It is a die from Simon Says Stamp called Brilliant Gifts.  I die cut the surround with gold mirri card and cut the individual presents with snippets from a Doodlebug Christmas pad.

I do love these pads for their small patterns and would like to buy more when I've used some of my paper mountain. I did have a bit of a sort out before Christmas and gave quite a bit I knew I wouldn't use to the local school.

The sentiment is heat embossed in gold and I've added some gems too.

I would like to enter:

MAKE A SCENE

 Morning Everyone,

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme is "Make a Scene".

For my card I have used the cute reindeer from the Let's Prance set by Clearly Besotted.  I drew round a hilly die with a pencil and then stamped the two reindeer in place.  I coloured them with copics and also the sky.  The trees, from the same set, were stamped in green and I've added a white highlighter pen here and there to make them look snowy.

After that I rubbed out my pencil marks for the hills and also coloured them with copics and added white glitter.  I've used a Simon Says stencil with texture paste for the snow and stamped the sentiment, also from the set.

If you'd like to pop over to the challenge here, you will be able to see the inspiration from the rest of the reminder team.

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS SENTIMENT

Morning Folks,

I hope you're keeping well and not too busy with Christmas preparations.  It's our last challenge at As You Like It for this year and we are asking which is your favourite Christmas sentiment?

I do like good old Merry Christmas and this one, which is from the Ornate Ornaments set from Simon Says Stamp always works really well when heat embossing.  I have heat embossed the ornaments in gold and coloured them with Tambai Starry Colours, which are varying shades of gold. The paints are quite shiny irl and I have taken a close up for you to get a better idea.

I fussy cut them and attached to a cream piece of card which had been cut out with a stitched rectangle and added gold twine.

CUTE AND CUDDLY CHRISTMAS

 Good Morning Everyone,

It is the start of a new challenge at The Cutie Pie Challenge and we would like to see a "Cute and Cuddly Christmas" project.

The sponsor of the challenge Hetty Clare has kindly provided the DT with images and I chose to use the Pony Christmas image.  I have coloured this cutie with copics and used papers and sentiment from LOTV.  Liquid pearls and white glitter have also been added.

This was a pretty quick and last minute make for me as I have been busy with all the preparations for Christmas.  We put our trees up over the weekend (one in lounge and one in dining room) and all the other little bits and pieces that go round the house.  I still have some wrapping to do, but at least I have all the present shopping done.

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS EMBELLISHMENT

 Morning Everyone,

It's just started to snow here this morning.  Lovely to look at, but hopefully it won't stay too long as I'm going out later.

It is time for a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking what your favourite Christmas embellishment is on your projects.  Mine is glitter or anything sparkly.  Christmas is the beast reason to add sparkle to a card.

I have used white glitter on my snow, although it doesn't show very well on the photo.  It is a cute Stamping Bella image coloured with copics.  I have also added a white gel pen for the dots on the scarf and liquid pearls for the snow in the sky.  The sentiment is 3 separate words from a Creative Expressions set.

VINTAGE NATIVITY

Hello Everyone,

This is a card I created using a Woodware stamp called Vintage Nativity.    I made the background first with Distress Oxides then stamped on top with Versafine Onyx Black.  I must say the stamp doesn't look as though it stamps very well, but I think this is how it's supposed to be and where the Vintage part comes.

FUN FOLDS

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme this month is Fun Folds.

I have made a Z-fold card with a chipboard tree on the front embellished with gold glitter.  There is also a gold glitter snowflake inside which was retrieved last year from my Christmas crackers.  The "Twinkly Christmas" sentiment is from an old LOTV set and is heat embossed in gold.

We are having a DT call this month so if you fancy making Christmas cards each month all the details are here but the deadline for applications is 30th November so you'll have to be quick.

I have a CAS Christmas card to share today for the CAS Christmas card challenge.

I have used 2 of the kittens from my Gerda Steiner stamp set called Carol Kittens.  I'm not really a cat person, but I do love these.  I have coloured with copics and fussy cut them out.  Glitter has been added to their hats and I have used a brick wall die from Sweet Dixie with Antique Linen DI behind.

HELLO BABY

 Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking whether you prefer to use dies or stencils on your projects.

It's definitely dies for me.  I use them on most of my cards and they can enhance a card so easily.  I have used a LOTV image for my baby card, coloured with copics, and the circle die is from Craft Consortium.  Other dies used are the stars, banners and the stitched squares and sentiment.

The prize this week is a voucher from:

CHRISTMAS BAUBLES

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I hope you are keeping well.

This is a card I've made with gold heat embossed ornaments from Simon Says Stamp.  I have coloured them in slightly with different shades of red, inked round the edges, although you can't see it very well,  and added a few sequins for a bit of sparkle.

Rudolph

 Morning Everyone,

I have a quick little card to share today using my deer circle from Simon Says Stamp.

I have cut it centrally in my stitched square and die cut the Merry Christmas from MFT twice and stuck them together.  The small piece of dotty paper is a snippet as were the pieces for the sentiment. I have coloured his eyes and nose and added glossy accents to the nose.

I really like this card and will probably do more in different colour ways.

FAVOURITE CIRCULAR EMBELLIES

Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking you to share your favourite circular embellishments with us on your projects.

I like both pearls and the glittery enamel dots, but I think for a wedding card pearls win and they just add a touch of elegance.

I have to confess this card has been in my Drafts for a while and, as I've not been too well just lately, thought it would be ideal as my DT card.  The heart die is from Stampin Up and the cream coloured paper, although you can't see is very well, is embossed with doves.  White and cream may look a bit odd in the picture but it was really nice in real life.  Pearls have been added to the flowers and a string of pearls to the ribbon.  The sentiment is from LOTV embossed in silver.

CRITTERS OR PEOPLE

Good Morning Everyone,

It's the start of a new challenge today over at As You Like It where we are asking whether you prefer critters or people on your projects. I do like both, but prefer to colour critters as I find them easier, especially if there's a lot of hair to colour and there's also a great variety of cute critters too.

For my card I've used this panda from Lee Holland, coloured with copics. The sentiment is from a MFT set and papers are old LOTV.  Everything has been cut out with stitched dies and the oval is from a Sizzix set. Little turquoise gems finish it off.

CAS CHRISTMAS

Good Morning Everyone,

This is my card for the challenge at CAS Christmas this month where the theme is "Grey and Red".

I recently purchased this Avery Elle set from a Facebook group and thought it would be ideal for a CAS card.  I stamped the Merry in red first after masking off the rest of the stamp and then vice versa for the grey part.  The colours are Real Red and Smoky Slate from Stampin Up.  Two strips of red card were added top and bottom to finish it off.

DOWN ON THE FARM

Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at The Cutie Pies and this time we are asking to see your cute farm animals.

I must admit I don't have many farm animals in my stash, but did find these cute sheep from Clearly Besotted which I haven't used before. I stamped and coloured them with copics and added dies for the clouds and grass, which I think are both MFT.

A quick and simple card for today. I think my mojo has gone walkies somewhere!

Thank you for visiting and I do appreciate any comments you may leave.

FAVOURITE NON CARD PROJECT

Good Morning Everyone,

It it time for a new challenge at As You Like It and the theme is "Favourite Non Card Project", not necessarily paper craft, it can be any type of hobby.

I normally would say cross stitch, but I haven't done any for ages. I do like making Christmas decor though so I can bring it out each year and it seems like new again, if you see what I mean.

I've had this box frame in the craft room for ages and can't even remember why it was originally there so I decided to make a Christmassy thing with it.  I used a few dies, stamps, a diamanté snowflake received in a kit, which I wouldn't put on a card and a flower which seemed too big to go on any of my cards.

It was really hard to get a good photo of it as I kept seeing my reflection in the glass, but it does look really nice and sparkly in real life.

ANOTHER GNOME CARD

 Hello Everyone,

I've made another gnome card.  I do love him because I can use up a few scraps of paper and even the base  can be cut from the odd shapes of white you're often left with.

I cut out a rectangular template and used Stampin Up Bashful Blue for the sky and left a slanted bit for the snow.  Then used a Simon Says Falling Snow stencil with texture paste and added white glitter to the past while it was still wet.  Stickles have been added to the snow and the Li'l gnome added to the corner.  I was going to try and draw a frame around it, but decided on some silver peel off strips, it was safer.

I am entering this into:

AUTUMN OR WINTER?

 Morning Everyone,

I'm back again. This time it's for the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It where we are asking for Autumn or Winter related projects, whichever season is your favourite of the two.

I definitely prefer Autumn to Winter. We can still have nice sunny days here without it being too warm and I love all the beautiful colours of the trees before they begin to lose their leaves.

I have made a card for my brother's birthday by adding lots of little stamps from various sets onto Neenah Desert Storm card.  I have coloured with copics and added glossy accents to the berries.  The sentiment is an unbranded one from Ebay, cut in the same card and the outline die in gold.

SKETCH AT CHRISTMAS CRAFT CREATIONS

 Good Morning Everyone,

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where this month we are following this sketch.

Here is my take on the sketch.

I didn't want to do the obvious trees so chose one tree and stamps, coloured with copics,  from the MFT set "Jingle All the Way".  The background paper is from Whimsy stamps.

An easy card to make, apart from the fussy cutting, which I seem to be doing a lot of recently even though it's not my favourite thing to do!

I hope you will be able to join in, thank you for visiting and I will be back tomorrow with another DT card.

BABY ONESIE

 Morning Everyone,

This is the card I made when my daughter had her baby.  He is now 6 weeks old so I thought I'd better share it.

I wanted to make something a bit different for her so the lovely Annette from Netty's cards kindly sent me her baby onesie template to use. It wasn't that easy for me as I had to cut out by hand and that's not one of my favourites things to do, but I got there in the end.  The papers are from a Baby Mine pad by Carta Bella and I hand stitched around the edges.  I've coloured the LOTV image with copics to match the papers and added little heart shaped pearls and the sentiment, which is also from LOTV.

PLAID GNOME

Good Morning everyone,

I have a very simple card here for the CAS Christmas challenge where the theme is plaid.

I have used my L'il gnome die from Simon Says Stamp and cut his plaid hat and outfit from a snippet of paper and coloured his beard and nose with copics.  I embossed a circle with a falling snow folder and added glitter to some of the flakes.  The stitched banner is stamped in red with a background stamp from My Favorite Things and the sentiment is from LOTV.  I am loving these black embossed labels at the moment, they are my favourite.

PAPER PIECING

Hello everyone,

It was a horrible rainy day here yesterday so I took the opportunity to make a card for the challenge at Allsorts where it is a challenge in memory of Kath, one of the DT, who sadly passed away recently.

I decided to go with the paper piecing option and used my wooden Penny Black stamp called Gossamer which I have stamped  twice and pieced with snippets of papers from a Doodlebug pad.  On the largest flowers I have doubled up on a few of the petals for added interest.  I have framed it with my Clearly Besotted frame dies and added tiny enamel dots to the centres and a few raindrops from Little Things from Lucy's cards.  The sentiment is from LOTV.

I have just got back from a lovely lunch with 3 friends who I meet up with every now and again and it was so nice to have a chat.  I have a dentist appointment tomorrow though, not looking forward to that one.

I would like to enter:

BIRTHDAY TIME

 Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you've had a good weekend.  Did anyone watch the tennis on Saturday with Emma Raducanu.  I can't believe she's only 18, a brilliant player, let's hope she keeps it up.

It is time for a new challenge over at The Cutie Pies and it's all about birthdays as we are celebrating our 10th birthday and there are 4 fabulous sponsors.

For my card I have used a Di's Digidesign coloured with copics.  I had a disaster with this right at the end when putting it altogether.  The image was quite a bit longer and I was going to put a die cut sentiment across the bottom, but I managed to get glue where it shouldn't have been and when I tried to wipe it the paper ripped etc etc so I had to cut it shorter and re-think where to put a different sentiment. So, not as originally planned but not a total disaster.

The papers are from an Echo Park pad and a little button and doily finish it off.

CIRCLES OR SQUARES

Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking whether you prefer circles or squares for your cards.  For my card bases I definitely prefer squares as I find them easier for layouts, but for images it depends on which suits them best and these bunnies are definitely made for circles.

I have coloured them with copics and placed them under two dual stitched circle dies and a Penny Black edger die.  The sentiment is heat embossed in white and is from LOTV as are the bunnies.

FLOWERS ALL OVER

 Good Morning Everyone,

What beautiful weather we're having here at the moment.  I thought we'd seen the last of the warm sunny days.

I've had a play with some inks after seeing a video on Youtube.  I put three colours of ink onto a mat, sprayed them with a bit of water and then stamped my flowers from the Adore You set by Altenew in a random manner.

This was cut out with a stitched square and I added the birthday sentiment, heat embossed onto vellum, before attaching to an orange mat.  I've used a cream base card for this as it looked a lot better than white. A few sequins and enamel dots have been added to finish it off.

FAVOURITE WILD ANIMAL?

Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at As You Like It  where we would like to see projects featuring your favourite wild animal.

I like lots of wild animals but have chosen elephants because they are such gentle giants and when they are being killed purely for their ivory, it is very sad.

I have used my WPlus9 elephants coloured with copics and cut out with their dies.  The birthday die is from MFT and I've cut that from a LOTV simply print watercolour.   I must say I'm not very happy with the card. It's probably because the elephants would have looked better being larger but with them being stamps and not digital I had to go with it and didn't have time to make anything else.

NON TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS COLOURS

 Morning Everyone,

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme this month is Non Traditional Colours.

I have chosen pink and grey for my card and have die cut this cute gnome from Simon Says Stamp and have coloured his nose and beard with copics.  Although this is my first time of using this little gnome,  I think it will be a great way to use up some of those snippets we all have.  I have used a Memory box alphabet for the Merry and heat embossed the Christmas in white.
