AYLI DT - FAVE WAY TO ADD RIBBON

Morning Everyone

It's time for a new challenge at As You Like It and for this fortnight the theme is to showcase a project using your favourite way to add ribbon (and don't forget to tell us why please).

A totally different type of card from my last one, this is mine for this challenge.  Looking back at my previous cards I don't add ribbon as much as I thought I did!  When there isn't room for a bow I do like to add a strip of ribbon around the card in a matching colour.  I think it adds that little bit "extra" and divides the card up a bit.  I do like to add a bow sometimes too, but often the ribbon can be a little too wide and I always struggle with them or there isn't always room as in this case.

This is for my mum-in-law's birthday in July, she will be 85.  I've sponged Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet ink onto a piece of white card and added white hammered cardstock on top with a Sizzix Tim Holtz mixed media die cut out.  The birthday word die is Mama Elephant and then ribbon, flowers and pearls have been added.  The 'Happy' and 'Mum' pieces are edged with spun sugar ink and stuck on with foam tape. You can't see it very well, but the dot above the i is heart shaped.

This looks really pretty in real life so I was quite pleased with the way it turned out.  I just hope she likes pink!

If you'd like to pop over to the challenge you'll be able to see the lovely projects made by the rest of the team.

I would like to welcome and thank  Di for becoming my latest follower, the number is going up gradually :).

CHRISTMAS WITH THE CUTIES - CAS

Morning Everyone,

It's time for another challenge at Christmas with the Cuties and for the next 3 weeks the theme is CAS so we would love to see your CAS creations, as long as they are cute and christmassy.

The sponsor for the challenge is Crafty Sentiments and they have kindly provided the team with images.

This is the card I made.  I don't think I'm really cut out for clean and simple as I always want to add more!  I coloured the image with copics and added some pearl drops, glitter and glossy accents.  I layered the image onto an oddment of navy card and the three banner strips were made from some scraps and that was it!  I used hammered white card as I think it adds a bit of texture and also looks a bit snowified (I don't think that's a proper word)).

If you'd like to pop over to the challenge here you'll be able to see all the lovely creations from the rest of the DT.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

June Rudolph Days - Anything Goes
Pixie's Snippets Playground
Winter Wonderland - Snowmen
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Extra - Anything Goes
That's Crafty - Keep it Simple
ABC Christmas Challenge - M is for more than one (3 different papers)

Thank you for visiting and I do appreciate it when you leave a comment, I love to read them.

Have a good week,

BIRTHDAY CARD

Morning Everyone,

I've had this card in my drafts for quite a while and, seeing as I haven't done much crafting in this hot weather, thought it was about time I shared it.  This is a quick card I made, without having to colour anything, for my Aunt.

I've distressed the edges of the papers, which are Pion Design, and added some cheesecloth.  Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, lace, a couple of pearls and the ready made sentiment from Dovecraft finish it off.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Creative Inspirations - Furry/feathered friends
Creative Moments - Anything Goes
Dream Valley - Square cards only
Southern Girls Challenge - Stuck on you (pearls, sentiment)
The Ribbon Girl - June Any Image

Thank you for visiting and I hope you can leave a comment as I do love to read them.

Have a good week,

AYLI DT - FAVOURITE FRUIT

Morning Everyone,

I can't believe it's two weeks since I last posted, time just seems to fly by!

I would like to thank Jenny for becoming my latest follower and I hope she enjoys looking at my future makes.

Today is the start of a new challenge at As You Like It and the theme is to showcase a project using your favourite fruit (you can use its colour as inspiration) and please don't forget to say why it's your favourite.

I've used Tiddly Inks Berry Sweet stamp for my card.  I love strawberries, mainly sweet English ones, as I think they have more flavour than the type you can buy all year round.  Also when you start seeing the PYO signs and local strawberries on sale, it definitely means summer is here and strawberries make me think of Wimbledon, which I love to watch on the telly.  We have been a few times too but it's always a bit dicey as to whether you'll get rain or not.

I've coloured Wryn with copics and used an old LOTV paper pad.  The dies used are Lawn Fawn stitched rectangles, Creative Expressions stitched flags, small Crafter's Companion flower die and a Mama Elephant tag.

The sponsors of the challenge are:

with a prize of 3 images of the winner's choice

If you'd like to pop over to the challenge here you will be able to see the lovely cards from the rest of the DT.

Challenges I would like to enter are:

Colour Crazy Challenge - Anything Goes
Tiddly Inks - Make it Rectangle
The Ribbon Girl - Any card
Noor Design - Summer
Happy Little Stampers - Anything Goes with Dies
Allsorts - Use 2 dies or more

Thank you for visiting and I love to read your comments.  Have a good weekend, it looks as though it's going to be a hot one!

AYLI - FAVE REASON TO SEND A CARD

Morning Everyone

It's time for another challenge at As You Like It and this fortnight we're asking you to showcase and tell us your favourite reason to make/send a card (other than a birthday card), and don't forget to let us know why.

My favourite cards to make are Christmas cards as I love adding glitter and sparkle and I do tend to make them all year round when I don't have much else on.

This is a LOTV stamp coloured with copics.  I've added shabby white frantage around the edge of the floral oval, glitter and stickles to the wings. The edges of the papers have been distressed and I've also added a double bow with a bit of bling and a small flower arrangement.

The sponsor of this challenge is:

with a $10 gift voucher for the winner

If you would like to pop over to the challenge here you'll be able to see the lovely cards from the rest of the design team.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Fab n Funky - Christmas
Fairytale Challenge - Things with wings
Creative Inspirations - Favourite Things (christmas cards, glitter, flowers)

Thank you for visiting and I do love to read your comments, they are much appreciated.
