FAVOURITE CRITTER?

Morning Everyone,

Today is the start of a new challenge at As You Like It and we are asking you to share a project featuring your favourite critter.

For domestic animals it's defintely dogs, but of the wild animals I do love pandas.  They are such soft gentle giants and they always look so sad with their big black eye patches.

I have stamped two of them from a Simon Says Stamp set and coloured everything with copics. I fussy cut the balloons, present and one of the hats and added them to the card.  The streamers are from The Greetery        and the sentiment from a MFT set.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

with a voucher for the lucky winner

I would like to enter:

Allsorts - Cute/Cuddly
Simon Says Weds - Anything Goes
Crafty Gals - Anything Goes

I look forward to seeing all the critter cards in the new challenge. Thank you for your visit and Happy Halloween!

SANTA

Hello Everyone,

I have been making a few cards recently for a charity that sends cards to children in hospital and thought it was a good opportunity to try and use up some snippets.  This is what I have made with snippets of red and white hammered cardstock to add onto cards.

They are made from a Simon Says Stamp die bought pre-loved.  I've coloured the faces with copics and quite enjoyed putting them together whilst watching tv in the kitchen.  These are some of the cards I've made:

I've managed to use papers I wouldn't normally pick and have also used a few images from old Christmas craft magazines, which I was reluctant to throw away.  Not finished with them yet and I still have to finish the insides.

This card used a whole sheet of paper from a doodlebug pad and I'm pleased to have made use of it as I couldn't think of what I would do with it before.

I am entering this card into:

Simon Says Weds - Christmas
Rudolph Days October - Anything Christmas

and the Santas into the Snippets Playground.

I will see you again on Thursday.

FAVOURITE DIE?

Morning Everyone,

Today is the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It  and we are asking you to share a project using your favourite die or punch if you don't have any dies.

I love all my mini scalloped dies.  I have circles and squares as well as my edger dies which come in a variety of shapes.  I think they add a bit of interest to a card without being overpowering.

I have used one on this card with a snippet of spotty paper underneath.  The floral cluster and sentiment are from Simon Says Stamp.  I have fussy cut the flowers to add onto the scalloped piece and made a few more enamel type dots to match with a circles die and glossy accents.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

with a voucher for the lucky winner.

I look forward to seeing your lovely entries and have a good rest of the week.

EMBOSSING FOLDER

 Morning Everyone,

This is a first for me at this technique.  I have used a Simon Says Stamp embossing folder called Blossom Field and coloured it with copics.

The inks seemed to soak in quite a lot and whether it's because the paper has been stretched a lot I'm not sure, but I don't think I will be trying it again in a hurry, not with copics anyway.  I have used a happy die, which I think is from WPlus9.  I've had it a long time and don't keep all my dies in their packets so can't quite remember.  The 'birthday' was heat embossed in white.

I would like to enter:

PIP challenge #2424 - Anything Goes
Classic Design - Anything Goes
Beautiful Blossoms - Anything Floral Goes

A short and sweet post. Thank you for your visit and have a good rest of the week.  The weather certainly seems to be getting a bit better here.

CORBEL TREE

Morning Everyone,

I hope you are all sorted for Christmas. This is a simple card made with a tree die from Simon Says Stamp
called Corbel Tree Collage.

I have used hammered cardstock and surrounded the die with a Spellbinders frame from their Venise Lace set.  I have added a snippet of green grungy paper underneath from Craft Consortium and a silver heat embossed sentiment cut with a stitched rectangle die.

I would like to enter:

Christmas Kickstart - Anything Christmassy
ABC Christmas  - Anything Goes
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Snippets Playground - snippets used were the sentient and green paper.

This is my last post before Christmas so I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

HELLO

Hello Everyone,

The weather has turned a lot colder here this weekend so it looks as though I'll be wearing my bigger coat for dog walking later!

I've probably said before that I give quite a few of my cards to an elderly aunt as she has a lot of friends and isn't that well off and she does seem to appreciate them.  This is one I've made for her and the colours were inspired by the latest Passion for Markers challenge.

It is part of a background stamp called Flora Background from Simon Says Stamp and I've heat embossed in gold and coloured with my Zig markers.  The 'Hello' die is an old one from Spellbinders.  It was quite hard to get this photographed right with the mirri card.  It looks as though there are marks around the circle but it's just shadows.  I must have had about 5 goes but gave up in the end.

I would like to enter:

Passion for Markers - Green/blue/purple
Classic Design - Anything Goes
Rabisco - Anything Goes

Have a good rest of the day and thank you for visiting.

ORANGE BLOOMS

Morning Everyone,

Another card made using my Zig markers.  This is from a Simon Says Stamp set called Look for the Rainbows.

I have heat embossed in gold and used my orange and green markers to colour.  Looking at the photo now I wish I had made the cut off with the spotted paper lower down, but it does look better in real life.  Orange ribbon and gold sparklies finish it off and the gold sentiment is from a Penny Black set.

I would like to enter:

Beautiful Blossoms -Anything Goes Flowers
Classic Design - Anything Goes
Stamping Sensations - Garden Delights

Thank you for visiting and I will be back tomorrow. Have a good day.

Morning Everyone,

I hope you've had a good weekend. Today is the start of a new challenge at the Cutie Pie challenge and the theme is "Simply Cuties" so we're looking for cas and cute.

For my card I have used this cute Critter Crowd from Simon Says Stamp coloured with copics.  The sentiment comes with the set and I decided to colour this in rainbow colours. I didn't have any green card for the bottom layer so coloured the edges with a matching pen on a piece of white card.

FAVOURITE COLOUR?

 Good Morning All,

Today is the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking to see projects featuring mainly your single favourite colour.

My favourite colour was blue for years but it has now turned to purple/lilacs.  The colour seems to suit me in clothes and I think it's really pretty whether it be a light or darker shade.

For my card I have used a flower and butterfly from a Simon Says stamps set called Look for the Rainbows.  I have heat embossed them in white and added a bit of shading with white ink.  The frame is from Pinkfresh Studio and the sentiment is from a Penny Black set.

The sponsor for this challenge is:

 Good Morning Everyone,

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme this month is to use washi-tape.

I have used my Simon Says Stamp reindeer window die surrounded by a sentiment from MFT and with three strips of Christmas washi tape.  This would be an easy card for batch making as long as you get the tape straight!

This is a second version using the teal as the main colour.

There's a really cute Christmas stamp set on offer as the prize and we are having a DT call for anyone interested in joining a Christmas challenge.  Just pop over here for the full details.

This is a card made with a Simon Says stamp set called Bouquet of Thanks.

I have heat embossed in gold onto watercolour paper and then coloured the flowers with my Zig markers in brights.  It was a bit of an experiment trying out different colours. The sentiment is also heat embossed and from a Stampin Up set.  I found a snippet of orange paper to match and layered everything onto gold pearlescent card.

I would like to enter:

Passion for Markers - Use rubber or Clear stamps
Rabisco Challenge - Anything Goes
Snippets Playground - snippets used were the orange paper and sentiment
The Corrosive challenge - Anything Goes

COOL OR WARM COLOURS?

Morning Everyone,

It's time for the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking whether you prefer cool or warm colours and to show these on your projects.  There is a colour wheel on the challenge here for you to see.

My favourite colour has always been blue, but more recently I seem to chose purple/lilac over anything, especially when colouring flowers so I must favour the cool side of the wheel.   I have die cut these Simon Says Etched Crocus dies and coloured them with Distress Oxides.  I must say they don't really look like the crocus we have in the garden so I thought I'd be able to use them any time of year.  They have been adhered to a Sizzix oval and the edgers I've used also come from the same set.

The sentiment is from MFT and I've inked up a snippet of white with the same blue ink and then heat embossed in white.

The sponsor for this challenge is:

with a prize for the lucky winner

I would like to enter:

Crafts Galore - Anything Goes
Snippets Playground - White snippets used for the flowers and sentiment

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will be able to pop over and look at the inspiration from the rest of the DT.

CAS TREES

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick card to enter into this months Rudolph Days challenge.

It's a cas card made with a SSStamp set Clean Line Christmas.  I've heat embossed the trees in gold, coloured with Gansai Watercolour paints in different shades of gold and fussy cut them out.  They look much better in real life than in the photo.  The sentiment has also been heat embossed and I've used gold mirri card for the mat.

I would like to enter:

March Rudolph Days - Anything Christmas
ABC Christmas - E for embossing

Just a quick one today.  I've spent all day indoors today due to the rainy weather and managed to get two cards finished.

Back tomorrow with a DT card.

INTERACTIVE OR NOT?

Good Morning Everyone,

Today is the start of a new challenge at As You Like It and we are asking whether you prefer to make Interactive (moving parts) projects or not.  I think I've only ever made one interactive card so I must be in the "not" category.

For my DT card I've used a set called Even More Spring Flowers from Simon Says Stamp heat embossed in white and coloured with Zig markers and fussy cut.  The centre circle has been cut out with a stitched die and then dry embossed with a folder from SSS called Lumen.  This has been layered onto a mini scalloped die in the lilac paper.

The sentiment is from LOTV.  This was my second choice from the set as I noticed that some of the sentiments in that set are disintegrating (splitting and falling apart). I don't know if anyone else has had that problem with small clear stamps?  It could be because they are quite small or could be age I suppose, but it is one of my favourite sets so not too happy about it.

I would like to enter:

Simon Says Weds - Add a die cut
Ally's Angels - Anything Goes
CCC Digi -  Add Flowers
Creative Inspirations - Spring Flowers

I hope you will be able to join in and if you'd like to pop over to the challenge here you'll be able to see the lovely inspiration from the rest of the DT.

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to comment.

FEBRUARY RUDOLPH DAYS

Morning Everyone,

When I made a previous card here it wasn't my first attempt at embossing the images.  My first try didn't turn out too well so I trimmed the bad parts and made it into a smaller card.  Can't let the good bits go to waste!

The images are from a Simon Says stamp set and I've added shading with copics to some of the baubles for extra interest.  The sentiment is from LOTV and red and gold sequins give it a bit of sparkle.

I would like to enter:

Feb Rudolph Days - Anything Christmas
Simon Says Weds - Anything Goes
Sparkles - Use some gold

Thank you for visiting and have a good week.

FAVOURITE OCCASION AT AYLI

 Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at As You Like It and we as asking what your favourite occasion is to make a card for.

I like to make cards for any occasion, but Christmas has to be a favourite as I tend to make them all year round so have plenty on stock when the time comes and I also like adding sparkly bits like glitter.

I have another card made with my SSS Winter Scene.  The sky is coloured with Stampin Up Bashful Blue and I've used a stencil for the snow. There is a border around the rectangle, but when I stamped it it looked too dark and didn't look right so I cut that off and added the little elements which have been coloured with copics and cut with their dies.  The bottom layer has also been inked around the edges with the blue as I didn't have any paper in the right colour. The sentiment has been heat embossed in silver.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I am entering this into:

ABC Christmas - C for CAS
Snippets Playground - Snippets used were everything except the two main layers

I hope everyone here in the UK has survived the recent storm without any damage, only a power cut for us, but it didn't last long.

Thank you for visiting and have a good day.

WINTER SCENE

Hello Everyone,

This is a very CAS card for me, but I'm trying to make my Christmas cards more this style, well the posting ones anyway! I do still struggle with the white bits though!

I have used a set from Simon Says Stamp called Winter Scene, coloured the little images with copics and cut them out with their respective dies.  The sentiment, also from the set,  was stamped onto a snippet of red and heat embossed in white.

I would like to enter:

CAS Christmas challenge -  Winter Scene
CRAFT - Winter
ABC Christmas - C for Clean and Simple

A quiet day for me today, just need to go and walk the dogs before sorting the evening meal.  Hope you're having a good one and thank you for visiting.
