GOLD CARD

Hi Everyone

This is the Christmas card I made for my mother in law.

The photo is a bit bright as I forgot to take the picture in the daylight and my hubby was hand delivering it and setting off too early the following morning so I had to take it under my daylight lamp and this was the best of the bunch.

I gold embossed 2 chipboard bells and distressed the edges of the First Edition papers and then layered them all up with the addition of cheesecloth, my favourite lace, a Sue Wilson poinsettia, some Joycraft die cut vintage leaves in gold and pearl embellishments from my lovely sister in law who owns a bridal headwear business. The sentiment was stamped in gold and gold stickles added to the edges.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Noor Design - Sparkle
Fab n Funky - Glitter and sparkle
ABC Challenge - Varied (anything Goes)
A Gem of a Challenge - Anything Christmas
Christmas Cards All Year Round - Anything Christmas

Thank you for visiting and I hope you all have a lovely Christmas.

CHRISTMAS WITH THE CUTIES DT

Hi Everyone

Today is the start of the new Christmas with the Cuties challenge and I'm so pleased and excited to have been asked to be a part of their new team! Full details of the challenge can be found here and this month's challenge is Anything Goes.  This is my card:

This is a cute Sylvia Zet image which I have coloured with copics. I have also put copper glitter on the bauble and present and glossy accents on his nose.  The papers are First Edition Christmas Wishes which have been distressed slightly.  I love these papers as 2 of them are also glittery but you can't see that on the photo.  I added some shabby green frantage to the chipboard holly (although it didn't come out very green) and there are 3 little berries there from the Ribbon Girl.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

DROPPING THE SHOPPING 2

Hi Everyone

I've made a second version of this LOTV image as when my aunt saw the first one she really liked it, so I thought I'd make her one for Christmas as I couldn't really give the one she'd already seen. This one is in a different colour way which is quite nice and cool looking for Christmas cards.

I've coloured the image with copics again and cut the oval out with a Sizzix Tim Holtz die.  The flowers are Creative Expressions Sue Wilson Poinsettia Additions and the stitched banner is also a Creative Expressions one.  Love this little image as I can glitter up all the fur and there's not too much colouring to do.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Christmas/Holidays
CCC Digi Creations - Bingo (Flowers, Image, Pearls)
Christmas at Sweet Stampin - Anything Goes
Fab n Funky - Digi Girls or hats
Stamping Sensations - Christmas Greetings

CHRISTMAS TEDS

Hi Everyone

This is another family christmas card to show you, one for my daughter and her partner this time.
The image is a Teddy Bo one, which I think is so cute!

I have coloured them with copics, distressed the edges of the papers and stitched around the bottom 2 layers.  There is one die cut snowflake which has been glittered and 2 small pearl snowflakes in the top right and the flowers have been glittered with stickles. The leaves have been cut from white glitter card and the white crispy ribbon has had little white pearls glued to it.

My cards always look better in real life than they do in photos, but then I suppose that's the case with everyone's.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

As You Like It - Teddies or Fairies (teddies always as they are so cute and lovable - my daughter still has hers from being a baby and she's 24 now).
A Gem of a Challenge - Snowflakes

Winter Wonderland - Add Ribbon/Flowers
Live and Love Crafts - White Christmas

RUDOLPH

Hi Everyone

A christmas card here for you to see.  This one has a reindeer image from Di's Digistamps which I coloured with copics and added glitter to his hat and baubles.

I also added glossy accents to his red nose and glitter glue to the edges of the poinsettia, which are made from a Creative Expressions die.

The lovely christmas paper comes glittered and is from First Edition, apart from the bottom layer which is from my stash. Pearls, ribbon and some bling in the flowers were also added.  I won't be adding a sentiment until I've decided who is going to receive it. I hope you like.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

BOTANICAL BUNCH

Hi Everyone

I thought I'd have a play with a stamp I bought and never used.  It was one of those "see it, must have it" ones and then you don't use it.  I have a few of those!

This one is Botanical Bunch from WPlus9.  I heat embossed it in white onto watercolour card and then coloured in with watercolour pencils.

It was supposed to be in a stitched rectangle but because I wasn't paying attention it somehow didn't all get cut out properly and when I tried to put it through the machine again it wasn't lined up correctly so it's turned out smaller than originally planned.  I inked around the edges of the watercolour card and then layered up with yellow and placed onto paper from Nitwit Collections called Flowershoppe. The sentiment has been stamped in silver metallic.

Snowflakes

Hi Everyone

I'm happy to see I have had a few new followers recently and would like to thank and also welcome them.  I hope you enjoy my makes.

When I saw the new challenge at Winter Wonderland was for "Frosty" I thought these cards might fit the bill.

They are only 4.5 inches square and I have made a few as they are flat for posting.  They are in blue and white:

and a greeny blue and silver:

The square of paper was cut out with a stitched edge die and then I die cut the snowflake in the centre and placed a piece of silver mirri behind the aperture. I die cut the snowflake again in white glitter card, glued it partly in the hole leaving some of the edges sticking up and then added a little piece of bling.  The continuous sentiment strip is stamped in silver metallic ink and the edges glittered in white.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

CraftyHazelnut CC 304 - Use a Sentiment
CraftyHazelnut CC Extra - Anything Goes
Craft your Passion 334 - Anything Goes
C.R.A.F.T. - Christmas

Thank you for taking the time to visit.  I always love reading your comments and they are much appreciated.

Have a good rest of your weekend.

MR. SNOWMAN

Hi Everyone

I hope you all had a good weekend.  I visited Stamp Magic at Doncaster yesterday and bought a few things.  I tried to limit myself and not buy lots as I've done that before and still not used some of the things I've bought!

I have another christmas card to share with you.  This one is quite a simple layout and it's Mr. Snowman from LOTV which I have as a digi image.

I coloured him with copics and used First Edition Christmas Wishes paper.  The holly die cuts are some bought from Ebay earlier in the year.  I've added liquid pearls and diamond glitter glue to the snow and around the sentiment, which is also from LOTV.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

The Ribbon Girl - Any Image
CCC Digi Creations - Add a bow

DROPPING THE SHOPPING

Hi Everyone

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and did plenty of things you enjoy.  I spent quite a bit of time in the craft room yesterday and managed to finish this card.

Sorry if the picture looks a bit dark.  I had a go with our little camera to try it out.  I think it shows up the details better, but it is dark.

I coloured the LOTV image with copics, which I am enjoying a bit more now.  I suppose the more you practice the easier it gets, but at the moment I do only have a limited number of them to use. The paper is also LOTV, the poinsettia dies are Sue Wilson and the die for the leaf embellishment is Sara Davies, which I glittered along with the fur on the girl's clothing.
It's quite a simple layout, but I didn't seem to have much room for anything else!

I would like to enter the following challenges:

ABC Christmas - T for two (2 flowers, 2 dp)
Inky Chicks - Animals
Crafty hazelnut CC Extra - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes

I am also entering the LOTV Facebook challenge.

CUTE SNOWMAN

Hi Everyone

I know I said in my last post that I might make a birthday card next, but after seeing the new release of Sylvia Zet images, I decided to make a start on family christmas cards, so I purchased this cute snowman and coloured him with copics to match the Woodland Wishes paper from LOTV. This is a 7" square card as a 6" didn't seem quite big enough.

The light was a bit bright when I took the photo so hope you can see it well enough.
I've glittered nearly everything in sight but it doesn't show very well.  The snow, the lacy edge on the bottom, the snowflake border around the top (half a memory box frostyville wreath) and a few drops of glossy accents around the image were glittered. In fact I think I might have to buy more white glitter soon the way I've been getting through it!  I also added glass glitter to the flowers. Stitched square and stitched rectangle dies were also used and there's also a sweet snowflake embellishment on the ribbon bow, but it doesn't show very well.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

The Ribbon Girl - Card
Noor Design Uk - Cas or Fussy and Fancy
Sketchy Challenges - Add some Bling
Fussy and Fancy Friday - Favourite Things (die cuts, flowers and glitter)
Crafty Ribbons -  Use ribbon or lace

NEW BABY

Hi Everyone

Something of a change from christmas cards today.  My daughter will soon be in need of a new baby card for a friend and as they know it's a girl I thought I'd make a pretty pink one.

I've used a pre-coloured LOTV image as I bought quite a few when I started crafting and need to use some up. The lacy doily die is from Joy Crafts, the flowers from Noor Design and WOC and the sentiment tags from LOTV.

I enjoyed making this and am pleased with the way it turned out.  Maybe go onto birthday cards next as I think I've overdone it with christmas ones, we'll see.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

SINGING MICE

Hi Everyone

I hope you have had a good weekend.  The weather was not so good here yesterday so I managed to finish another Christmas card, sweet little singing Penny black mice which I recently purchased on Ebay.

I've coloured them with copics and added liquid pearls and glitter.  The frame is called Frosted frame from Apple Blossom, but I can't remember the make of the snowflake die I'm afraid. Pearls and ribbon were added to finish off and also some wink of stella on the frame.  The colours haven't come out that well on the photo, but it does look a lot nicer in real life.  I haven't added a sentiment as I didn't have one that looked right wherever I placed it.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

ABC Challenge - Pearls
Winter Wonderland - Christmas dies
Christmas at Sweet Stampin - Christmas die cuts
ATSM - Anything Goes

CHARLIE

Morning Everyone

I've been messing around with this card for goodness knows how long.  Firstly, I'd put it together with the sketch that I'd chosen and didn't like it, then I thought the papers looked too dark, then I'd over inked the edges and had to cut the image down, it was never ending!

The reason I didn't throw it in the bin was because the little dog looks just one of ours, Charlie, so I wanted to finish it off.  After the addition of the striped paper and the little poinsettias I thought it looked a bit brighter so it was saved and I'm quite pleased with it now.

The image and sentiment tags are LOTV and the poinsettia die I think is from Poppystamps.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Winter Wonderland - Lots of Layers
Crafty hazelnuts CC Extra - Anything Goes
Craft Your Passion 329 - Anything Goes

CUTE PENGUINS

Morning Everyone,

I thought I'd pop yet another christmas card in today.  I was inspired by the following sketch on The Sketchy Challenges blog.

It is a pre-coloured LOTV image, but I have added some glitter, liquid pearls and a little bit more colouring to the penguins' feet.

I inked round the edge of the image, but decided I didn't like it so I glittered them instead, but you can't see it very well. I distressed the edges of the papers which is LOTV,  sewed round the edge with my machine and cut 2 Memory box stars from glitter paper and also punched a couple of snowflakes, which are also glittered.

That's two cards in two days! I'll have to go and think about my next one now, perhaps it might be another christmas card, just for a change :) .

Winter Wonderland - Cute Christmas Characters
Ribbon Girl - Card

CHRISTMAS TREES

Hi Everyone

Another christmas card from me.  This is another first for me, this time with the emboss resist technique.  I heat embossed a rather large christmas tree stamp from Woodware in white and then inked the paper with a mixture of greens and yellows in distress and stampin up ink.   It wasn't my first attempt at it by the way, but I was more pleased with this one so I added a few little gold stars and also the sentiment from the set was heat embossed in gold and matted it onto some matching green paper.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Paper Creator - Christmas
Craftyhazelnut CCExtra - Anything Goes

BIRTHDAY CARD

Hi Everyone

I've made another floral birthday card, this time for my daughter.  I don't think it's embellished enough to be called shabby chic - I just can't bring myself to overload with too many embellishments.
My daughter's favourite colour is blue and she likes butterflies so I tried to incorporate them both.

Although these type are cards are easier to make in a way than those with images, because of the lack of colouring, it seemed to take me an age to make purely because I couldn't decide what to put on it so it was a relief to get it finished.

Both chipboard elements are painted and glittered and I've put a small amount of glass glitter on the flowers, although none of the aforementioned can be seen in the photo - sorry!  I hope she likes it, her birthday is on Monday, but she doesn't even know I have a blog so she won't see it!

DASHER

Hi Everyone,

A quick christmas card from me today.  I've had one of those days where nothing has gone right for me in the craft room, but I did manage to finish this so I've taken a break to post it.

I embossed the Stamping Up reindeer in silver, cut him out with a stitched circle and matted him onto a lacey one from Spellbinders.  The paper I've used is First Edition Silent Night, which I love for christmas cards, so much so that I've ordered another pack :).  I cut out a Lawn Fawn stitched hillside border, placed it sideways on and put the card together with the addition of some silver twine and the sentiment matted onto some silver mirri card and that's it!

LITTLE BIRDIES

Hi Everyone

When I saw these little birdies were due to be released at Clearly Besotted I just had to order them as soon as they came out as they're so cute!  I couldn't wait to make a card either and this is what I came up with.

I coloured the birds with Inktense pencils, I tried a few colours but loved this green the best. I also bought the dies for them so cut them out with those.  I found a small piece of chipboard discarded from another card on my desk so inked that up and embossed the sentiment onto it.  I was inspired by Jen's card here.  Even though I like the look of CAS cards, I did struggle leaving white space, so I had to put a few enamel dots on, just to put my mind at ease :) .

ADDICTED TO PHONES

Hi Everyone

This is a birthday card I made because I liked the  LOTV stamp, but I'm not sure who will receive it yet as these are more for teenagers, so it may stay in my spare card box a while!

I wanted to have a go at colouring this one up as I needed more practice with my Copics, especially on hair! I still don't like it though, but I was quite pleased with the rest of it so I decide to make it up into a card.  The patterned paper is Dovecraft Garden Party I think and I made the flowers up from my hydrangea punch.  The banners were cut with my spellbinder dies,  a few enamel dots and pearls and that's it!

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Stamping Sensations - Anything Goes
Penny Black and more - Anything Goes with a stamp
Paper Shelter - Punches and Dies

VALERIE IN PINK

Hi Everyone

Another Christmas card from me today.  I like to do these when I haven't any birthdays/occasions coming up and I like adding snowy embellishments :).  For this one I have used a Mo Manning digi image "Valerie in Winter". You get 3 images in the set, but I like this one the best because of the dog.

I've used the Memory box frostyville border again, but this time on a dark background.  I paper pieced Valerie's clothes (a first for me) and I quite enjoyed doing that as I'm not brilliant at colouring. So all I needed to colour in was her face, boots and the little cutie dog.

The paper is from a Wild Rose Studio Milton christmas pack and the sentiment from a Woodware stamp set.  I added silver from a Gelly Roll pen to the swirls and stripes on the clothing and also on her boots.  There is some fun flock on the pom pom and I've glittered up the snowflakes from another frostyville border and added them to the card.  There's also some stickles on the snow.

Challenges I would like to enter are:

ABC Christmas - Paper Piecing
In the Pink - Anything Goes
CHN Christmas Challenge Extra - Anything Goes
Noor Design - Christmas in August
Bizzy Becs - Anything Goes

SHABBY CHIC

Hi Everyone

When the super talented Bev Rochester posted this card I commented that it was ideal inspiration for my mum in law's birthday and this is what I came up with.

I've tried to make it as different as I could, but it's not easy with such a large chipboard frame as this one, which I bought from Live and Love Crafts.  It was too big to go on a 6" square card so I had to make one slightly larger than that (but not a square one).

The paper is LOTV which I distressed and stitched round the edges, a first for me, but it came out well on my machine.  I then tore the two corner pieces and slid a bit of lace under one, but you can't see it very well.  I glittered the frame and stuck on the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, as well as the little dragonflies.  I stamped two separate sentiments onto vellum and attached it to the middle.  I did have a go at putting some gesso on but chickened out as I didn't want to mess it up after it had taken me ages to do so you probably can't see it!

Her birthday's on Saturday so I hope she likes it.

The challenges I would like to enter are:

Live and Love Crafts - Sprinkles of Summer
Noor Design - Anything Goes option chipboard - I hope it's ok to enter this one

STILL CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Hi Everyone

I have another Christmas card to share.  I'm certainly forging ahead with them, so hopefully will be well organised this year (not!).

I still haven't looked into putting a watermark on my cards yet, but I don't think that matters at the minute.  I stamped the two LOTV penguins and coloured with copics, then layered them onto MFT stitched circles which were coloured round the edges to match.  I glittered the fur of penguin's hats, but this doesn't show very well. There are a few pearls on the Memory box Frostyville die and I also coloured some small oddments of paper to put underneath.  The LOTV sentiment was popped onto some foam tape and a blue ribbon added.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Winter Wonderland - Use Die cuts/punches
Country View Crafts - Have Fun with Circles
Sir Stampalot - Anything Goes with a stamp and ribbon
Christmas at Sweet Stamping - Anything Goes

ONE LAYER CARD

Hi Everyone

When I saw the challenge at Penny Black Saturday was for a one layer card I thought I'd have a go as I've never made one before.  Below is what I came up with, but in hindsight I think this may be my one and only one layer card!  It was my second attempt and was so nerve wracking not to make a mistake, especially at the end when I stamped the sentiment!

I stamped the Penny Black Softly stamp in Memento London Fog and then coloured it in with a mixture of Prismacolour and Inktense Watercolour pencils.  I scored round the edges and gave it a bit of liquid pearl treatment to make it look a bit more interesting.  I actually only meant to score down one side and along the bottom but I made a silly mistake and scored along the top so it had to be all the way round.  One line top & bottom and two on the sides.  The sentiment is from a Stamping Up Set.  I quite like how it turned out in the end, but I don't think I'll be doing another one in a hurry :)

I would like to enter the following:

Penny Black Saturday - One Layer
Penny Black At Allsorts - Anything goes with a stamp
Bizzy Becs   -  Anything Goes

CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Hi Everyone

I have another Christmas card to show.  I know it's only July, but I do like making Christmas cards, possibly better than any other type.  This is a digi stamp from Di's Digistamps which I've had for a while and never used.

I used Copics to colour and LOTV paper (retired).  Two of the flowers I had to colour myself as I didn't have any suitable red ones and I also used two lovely frosted berries and a tiny fir cone from the Ribbon Girl.  I added glitter to the snow and mouse's hat and also heat embossed the sentiment in silver.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges;

ABC Christmas Challenge - M is for Mice
Winter Wonderland - 3 different embellies (glitter, flowers, ribbon)
Simon Says Stamp Weds. - Anything Goes
The Ribbon Girl Blog - Anything Goes
Di's Digistamp - Christmas in July

CANDY PIP

Hi Everyone,

This is my second card in 3 days, not 3 weeks like before - I must be on a roll!  On the other hand, it could be to do with the rainy weather giving me more of a chance to craft.

This is my first effort with Sugar Nellie Candy Pip.  The stamp was a bit too big for the size of card I wanted so I stamped the image and then scanned it onto my computer and altered it in Word so it was slightly smaller.  Then I coloured her with Copics and fussy cut her out, which wasn't easy with that little flower and spiky hair!

I cut a frame out for her to sit on then decided to emboss the centre with a cloud folder and put it back in.  I've coloured the sky slightly with a Stampin Up marker, but I wish I hadn't when I'd done it as I preferred it white, but I suppose it shows the clouds up more. The papers are Flower Shoppe from Nitwit Collections.

The challenges I would like to enter are:

Sugar Nellie 137 - Anything Goes
The Ribbon Girl - Any Image
Crafting from the Heart - Anything Goes
The Paper Shelter 254 - Birthday Girl

Very Pink

Hi Everyone

It's been three weeks since my last post, but normal everyday life seems to be getting in the way of crafting!  I don't know how some of you ladies manage to post so often even when you have a full time job.

Anyway, when I saw the lovely picture of decorated cupcakes at In the Pink I thought it would give me an excuse to use my Mama Elephant Carnival Cupcakes set which hasn't been out of the packet yet.

I stamped the cupcake bases with a pearlescent ink and the tops with Memento London Fog so it didn't look so harsh.  All colouring was done with Copics and then the cupcakes were glittered, the cherry had a glossy accents job and the yellow bows given the wink of stella treatment.  I had a problem of where to put the sentiment that goes with the Carnival toppers stamp set as it didn't seem to fit anywhere so I stamped a smaller one onto vellum and placed it at the top.  I normally like a few more embellishments, but with so much pink about I thought I'd leave it as is.

Hope you like.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

In the Pink - Cupcakes
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Use Patterned Papers
Stamping Sensations - Feature a Creature
The Ribbon Girl - Anything Goes

MY FIRST POST

Hello

This is my first post so you must bear with me until I get used to everything.  My blog will seem a bit sparse for a while, but hopefully I will get better in the next few weeks, especially with headers etc as I'm still not sure what I'm doing!

My photos are not the best yet either!  This is an image from Digistamp Boutique (Arctic Fun), coloured with Copics and with paper from LOTV (now retired).  I have glittered the snowflakes and also used liquid pearls and fun flock on the image.

Challenges I would like to enter:

The Craft Barn - at least 2 papers
Digistamp Boutique - May 16
Squirrels World - Wild Things
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes

Have a good day.
