CRAFTY CAT

 Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at As You Like It where we are asking you to show us your favourite way to cut out images, i.e. fussy cut, dies or with a cutting machine.

I only tend to fussy cut easy images, i.e. ones without little fiddly bits on.  If they are too fiddly I always end up creasing them somewhere and they look a mess.  My favourite way is with a die as on my card above.  A die makes it so much easier and stitched dies are a particular favourite.

For my DT card I have used a Saturated Canary image called Crafty Cat and coloured with copics.  The outer die is from Craft Consortium and the papers from a First Edition pad.  This card is for my sister in law and is 7"x 7".  I try to make them a bit special for family and have added flowers and a pretty bow. The tags are from Mama Elephant.

AYLI DT - RIBBON OR LACE

Hi Everyone,

It's time for another challenge at As You Like It and this fortnight's theme is to showcase a project using your favourite, either ribbon or lace (and don't forget to say why it's your favourite).

I have used both on my card, but I do love lace more as I think it makes a card look a bit extra special and gives it more texture.  I must admit though that there isn't always a place for lace and only ribbon will do.

This is a stamp from Saturated Canary called Crafty Cat, which I have coloured with copics and I've also added glossy accents to the glasses.  The lace is a narrow lace which I have placed back to back and put a pearl string in the centre. I have added cheesecloth under the image which is cut out with a Little Darlings Fancy Squares die, added flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment tags from LOTV are stamped with silver metallic ink.  I've also stitched around all the layers on my machine, but that's not very clear on the photo, and added a few pearls here and there.
