FAVOURITE WILD ANIMAL?

 Morning Everyone,

We have a new challenge starting over at As You Like It and the theme is "Your Favourite Wild Animal".

I have chosen a Giant Panda and made a bright card with this little cutie.  Pandas always look so gentle sat there eating bamboo and their fur looks so soft and cuddly.

For my card I have used an image from a Simon Says Stamp set called Celebrating You,  coloured with copics to match the colours of the strip of paper and added a die cut sentiment from MFT.

FAVOURITE COLOURING MEDIUM?

Morning Everyone,

We have a new challenge starting over at As You Like It and we are asking you to share projects using your favourite colouring medium and to be a prize winner you must say why it's your favourite.

Mine is copic markers.  I have used them since I started making cards am more experienced with them and I love how they blend so well.  I do have a go with Zig markers now and then, but mainly for florals.

For my card I have used the Waffle Flower postage die and added my Mama Elephant Reindeer Games stamp set.  The deer, tree and presents have been coloured with copics, die cut and added onto the little squares which I've inked with blue ink.  The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I hope you can join us and your can see the inspiration from the rest of the DT here.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.  It's going to be another scorcher today here in the UK so I hope you manage to keep cool whatever you are doing.

FAVOURITE SAFARI ANIMAL

Morning Everyone,

We have a new challenge starting over at As You Like It and the subject is "Your Favourite Safari Animal".  This is my DT card.

Have you ever had a disaster right at the end of making a card?  Well that's what happened to this one.  Somehow orange ink appeared just below a die cut sentiment and no matter how I tried to get rid, it wouldn't work so the layout has turned out completely different to what I had intended.  I had to tear the sentiment off and cut the image down, which is an old one from Wild Rose Studio, and extend it with some mini scalloped edgers.  I only had one small bit of the striped paper left and it wouldn't fit top and bottom without the edgers.  Then to top it all the sentiment, which is from LOTV, didn't stamp properly onto the image so I had to cut a small stitched rectangle and add that on top.

With that little rant over I have to say I do love Elephants as my safari choice, especially young ones.  I love seeing them run about when they are small and they look so cute.

FAVOURITE PET?

Morning All,

We have a new challenge today over at AYLI and we are sking you to shire a project containing your favourite pet.

Apart from a few fish over the years dogs are the only pet I've had.  We have a little ruby Cavalier at the moment who is nearly 14 and the house would seem really empty without him.

I have made a tag for my DT project with a little pup from the MFT Happy Pawlidays stamp set.  I have coloured him with copics.  The sentiment is from the same set and the tag die, together with the topper which has been cut from a snippet of paper, is from Marianne Design.

NON CARD PROJECT AT AYLI

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you are all well.  I had a dental appointment yesterday for root canal treatment.  I can honestly say I was dreading it, but thankfully it was a lot better than I thought.  One more appointment in a fortnight, but at least I know what to expect now.

Anyway, enough of that.  It's time for a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking you to share your favourite non-card projects.  It can be anything from tags and boxes to knitting etc.

Over the last few months, when the mood takes me and in between cards,  I have been decorating this little house shaped shelving unit.  I used to belong to a monthly subscribed club called Crafteezee and this little unit came with that along with lots of embellishments that I wouldn't use on a card so I decided to get on with it and use some up.  I painted it in white emulsion and decorated the rooms with snippets of paper.  I rummaged through my stash for anything suitable and arranged them into their little rooms.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

with a prize for the lucky winner.

I hope you can join us and you  can see more inspiration from the DT here.

Have a good day and I will be back soon.

FAVOURITE COLOUR COMBO?

Morning Everyone,

We have a new challenge starting over at As You Like It where we would like to see projects using your favourite colour combo.

I do love yellow and green on white.  I think it's so fresh looking and for my card I have used a neglected set from The Greetery called Birthday Blooms.  I have stamped various pieces  then die cut and arranged around the large sentiment which is also part of the set.  A die from CraftAddiction was used for the main white square.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I hope you can join us and you can pop over here to see the rest of the inspiration from the team.

Thank you for visiting and have a good day.  It looks as though it's going to be a warm one here.

FAVOURITE SENTIMENT

Morning Everyone,

We have a new challenge starting over at As You Like It where we are asking for your favourite sentiment.

I nearly always make birthday cards and I love this large happy birthday die which is from Simon Says Stamp as it goes so well on the larger cards I make for the young ones in the family.

This is for one of the granddaughters who is mad on these K Pop demon hunters.  I've never seen them so not sure what they are about etc. but they do seem quite popular with girls.   I've used an image from Pinterest and shaded a piece of scrap paper in the same colours to cut the sentiment out.  A few glittery stars and a heart have also been added.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I hope you can join us and you can pop over to the challenge here to see the inspiration from the rest of the team.

Thank you for your visit.

FAVOURITE SEASON AT AYLI

 Morning Everyone,

We have a new challenge starting over at As You Like It and would like to know what your favouirte Season is and why please.

Mine is definitely Spring.  I love it when the weather starts to get a bit warmer, the gardens start to come to life again and I can get out there and do some tidying.

For my card I have used my Spring Boots again from Dreamees, this time in green and I have pulled out a square doily from my stash and used tags from CraftAddiction UK.  The papers come with the images and I have used a mini scalloped border die from MFT under the striped paper.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I hope you will be able to join us and I will see you again soon.

FAVOURITE SKETCH/LAYOUT?

Morning Everyone,

Today is the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It where we are asking to see your favourite sketch or layout.

This is the layout I usually go to when I'm stuck for an idea.  I find it's well balanced and I'm always pleased with the end result.

I have used a Penny Black image called 'You're the Bestest'  coloured with copics and used kraft card for the mats and papers from a First Edition pad.

BRIGHT OR PASTEL COLOURS?

Morning Everyone,

Do you prefer pastel or bright colours on your projects? That is the new theme of our challenge over at As You Like It

I do like both, but for youngsters I prefer bright, especially against a white background which makes the colours stand out more.  For my card I have used an old Avery Elle birthday balloon set which I bought pre-loved.  The stars are heat embossed in gold and I've added a few enamel dots too.

It took quite a few goes before I was happy with the stamping of the balloons so I've come to the conclusion that it would possibly be easier to stamp them on scrap pieces of white card and fussy cut, which is what I had to do with the red one.

The sponsor for this fortnight is:

I hope you can play along with your pastels or brights and you can see the rest of the DT inspiration here.

Thank you for visiting and I will see you soon,

SIMPLE OR FUSSY?

 Morning Everyone,

We have the start of a new challenge today over at As You Like It where we are asking whether you prefer  your makes to be simple or fussy.

I am an in between person really, but when it comes to a "big" birthday or close female family I like to go that bit extra and make them more fussy.  This card was for my daughter and I coloured the image, which is a Stamping Bella one called Bedelia and Betsy go for a walk, with copics.  The papers are all from old LOTV paper pads and I have added flowers and leaves to go with the papers. The sentiment came with the stamp and the little tags are from Mama Elephant.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I hope you can join us and have a good day whatever you may be doing.  We're looking after the grandson today as it's Easter holidays so I'm sure we will be kept busy.

FAVOURITE EMBELLISHMENT?

Morning Everyone,

A little late with my post today for As You Like It where the theme is "Favourite Embellishment".

If I don't do a full on fancy card my favourites are pearls or enamel dots, which ever suits the card best.  I have used pearls this time as they are more elegant looking and balance the card off as I thought the white space looked a bit too bare.  I have used my CraftAddiction slatted circle die and flowers from Spellbinders.  The birthday tags are also from CraftAddiction and the colour scheme of turquiose and gold is to enter into their Facebook page challenge.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I would like to enter:

Early visit to the dentist this morning for a check up and thankfully all clear. That was one reason why I'm late with my post. I really don't like going and worry about it beforehand.  Anyway, better late than never!

See you soon and thank you for visiting.

TOOLS R US

 Morning Everyone,

We have a new challenge starting over at As You Like It and we are asking "who is your favourite person to craft for?".

I love making for all family members, but I have chosen hubby this time.  He knows I don't really like/make many masculine cards so when I make the effort for him he really appreciates it.

For this card I have used tool dies from Sweet Dixie.  I have die cut them in snippets of red, grey and silver mirri card and arranged them around the die cut numbers.  The sentiments are from a Woodware stamp set also containing diy tools.  He is definitely a Mr. Fix It so I thought the words were very apt for him.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I would like to enter:

Snippets Playground - all tools and numbers are from snippets, but no photo sorry.

I hope you can join us.   Thank you for your visit and I will be back soon.

FAVOURITE COLOUR

 Morning Everyone,

A new challenge starts today at As You Like It and we would like to see a project using your favourite colour.

Blue has always been my favourite colour.  This has graduated to purples too, but I used blue for this card mainly because I found the image partly coloured in a folder recently with a blue hydrangea.  Not sure why it was there though, but best to get it used!

The cute little kitten is from Di's Digistamps and I have coloured with copics.  The large circle die is from Spellbinders and I've used old papers from stash to complete the card.  The sentiment is from a Penny Black set and I've made the two enamel type dots by adding  glossy accents to die cut circles.

The sponsor for the prize is:

Thank you for popping by and have a good day.

CUTE OR ELEGANT?

 Morning Everyone,

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It where the theme is "Cute or Elegant?".

I do like to make cute cards for children, but more often than not my makes are floral.   I make quite a few for an elderly aunt to give to her friends.  For this card I have used a Stampin Up layered peony in cream and used snippets of green and brown papers for the die cuts.  The sentiment is heat embossed in gold and from MFT.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I hope you can join us in the challenge and you can pop over here to see the inspiration from the rest of the DT.

Have a good weekend.

FAVOURITE DIE?

 Morning Everyone,

We have a new challenge starting over at As You Like It and we are asking you to share a project using your favourite die.

I use quite a few dies but for this challenge have chosen my Waffle Flower postage collage as a favourite.  It's very flexible and can be used as it is or cut up to create any style of card you wish.  It can also be used for any small stamps and not just the stencils that co-ordinate with the die.

I have used the spring flowers stencil on this one, cut them out and used a butterfly die and small flowers.  The sentiment has been heat embossed in gold. The colours of the tulips and small flowers look blue in the photo, but they are purple. I used little snippets for the butterfly and flowers, but no photo, sorry.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I would likje to enter:

Thank you for your visit and I hope you have a good weekend when it gets here.

FAVOURITE OCCASION?

 Morning Everyone,

We're back at As You Like It after the Christmas break and asking to see your favourite type of card to make.

Mine are birthday cards. They're the ones I make the most and when they're for a family member I like to make them according to their interests when I can.

This one was for the grandson.  He's mad about Spiderman and his friends and I found this image on Etsy. I tend not to colour images for little ones as they are quicker to make and they don't know whether it's hand coloured or not.  This is a larger than normal card, A5 size, and all I had to do was print out the image and find papers to match, which are from a Doodlebug pad.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I hope you can join us for the first challenge of the year.  Thank you for visiting and have a good day.

CHRISTMAS

 Morning Everyone,

A new challenge is starting over at As You Like It and the theme is anything Christmas.

For my DT card I have chosen to have a play with a new die from Concord & 9th called Ornament Inlay die.  I die cut it first in the off white cardstock and then, after I decided on the colours, added snippets of coloured card to the die and die cut again and again.  The only bits I haven't used snippets on are the holly and leaves as I wanted a soft green so used ink on those.  The circles in the middle are silver mirri card although they look black in the photo.

The sentiment is from a Woodware set and is heat embossed in silver.

We look forward to seeing all your Christmassy projects.  I think I'm about done with mine now.  I've been stamping the insides of my cards this week, which is my least favourite job.  I suppose I should complete the insides as I finish a card then I wouldn't have them all to do at once!

I would like to enter:

Snippets Playground - The blue, peach, corners and berries were all snippets,  although I didn't take a photo, sorry.
Christmas Kickstart - Anything Christmassy
Creative Inspirations - 'Tis the Season
Crafty Calendar - Christmas

Have a good day and thank you for visiting.

GOLD, SILVER OR GLITTER

 Morning Everyone,

A new challenge is starting over at As You Like It and we would like to know whether you prefer gold, silver or glitter on your cards.

I do like all three, but when green and red are involved I prefer to use gold as it suits them better.  For my card I have used a wreath die from CraftAddiction and cut it out with differing shades of green designer paper.  The poinsettias are from a Spellbinders set, the bow from Alex Syberia and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. I've added some gold glitter paste on some of the leaves and gold enamel dots to finish it off.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

Busy day here today, well every day seems to be busy on the run up to Christmas!  I hope you have a good one whatever you may be doing.

FAVOURITE EMBELLISHMENT?

Morning Everyone,

A new challenge starts over at As You Like It and we would like you to share a project containing your favourite embellishment.

Mine are definitely pearls and enamel dots.  They're not too bulky for posting and add a little bit of extra prettiness to a card.

I have used Pinkfresh Studio washi tape for this card and cut the pieces out with their respective dies.  The sentiment is from the same company and has been heat embossed in gold.  Sparkly enamel dots used this time as I didn't have the right colours in pearls.

I hope you can join us.  Thank you for visiting and have a good day.
