SAIL AWAY

Morning Everyone,

I hope you are all well.  I don't seem to be sharing so many cards lately, but I think it's because I've been trying to get ahead with my DT cards in the run up to Christmas and haven't had time for many other makes.

This is a card I made for my brother's birthday.  He lives in Cornwall and has a sailing boat so I thought it would be very apt for him.

It is an old Stampin Up stamp called Sail Away. I stamped the sails twice so I could fussy cut and add another layer.  I have used navy ink and all the paper edges have been distressed.  I embossed the red paper, but I think it was too thin as the folder took the top off the paper.  When I tried it again on thicker card it looked too neat so I ended up using my first attempt as it seemed to go better with the distressed look.  I made 2 dots with the same red paper and used glossy accents on them and then tied a reef knot with the string.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Creatalicious - Anything Goes
Dream Valley - Birthdays
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Vintage/Distressing

Thank you for visiting and I appreciate any comments that you leave.  Have a good weekend,

Lynne x

  7. This is a gorgeous 'him' card Lynne. I like how you kept it simple and let the image 'do the talking' with just a little bit of patterned paper and brads for embellishment.
