AYLI DT - FAVOURITE SHAPE OF CARDBASE

Morning Everyone,

It's time for another challenge over at As You Like It and this fortnight's theme is to showcase a project using your favourite shape of cardbase.  This can be a square, but you must explain why it's your fave.

I nearly always use square cards, usually sometimes 6" but for more special cards I use a 7" square.  I find square cards a lot easier to work with and can place embellishments more easily.  I also like things to look symmetrical, but I must say this has made me realise I should be more adventurous with my shapes - so watch this space I might go mad and make a different one!

This was made for my sister-in-law's 50th.  I made the 50 as small and discreet as possible because I don't think she likes being that age, but I just had to put it somewhere :) .  As you can see I've used a chipboard window frame, which I painted, a small lace butterfly and a doily.  The papers are from a First Edition christmas pad called Gilded Winter and the lovely pearl and gem embellies in the bottom left corner are from a Crafteezee collection from Noor Design.  I stamped the sentiment in gold metallic onto vellum as I think that goes well with this type of card.  The photo seems to have made the window look crooked but I can say it is definitely straight.

The sponsor of this challenge is

with a $10.00 gift voucher for the winner.

If you'd like to pop over to As You Like It here you'll be able to see the rest of the projects made by my lovely team mates.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Ribbon Girl - any Card
Fussy and Fancy Friday - Embellish It
Noor Design - Flowers
Creatalicious #112 - Add Flowers

Thank you for visiting and I love to read any comments you may wish to leave.
