MERRY CHRISTMAS STENCIL

Morning Everyone,

I hope you are keeping well. There's a lot of colds and flu about, but fingers crossed we'll escape it.   I bought this Spellbinders stencil in a sale from Oakwood Direct a while ago as I thought it would be nice and flat for posting and decided to have a play.

I used various inks of shades of green and pink, mainly copying the colours from the packet picture, as it was my first attempt, but will try and be more adventurous in future.  The sentiment comes with a die as well but I opted to stencil direct onto the card.  I've added various sparkly centres to the flowers and then matted with gold and deep pink paper.

I would like to enter this into:

Color Hues - Pink and Green
Christmas Kickstart - If It's Christmassy Link It Up
Crafty Calendar - Christmas

Christmas present wrapping for me today.  Whatever you're doing I hope you have a good one.

CHRISTMAS

 Morning Everyone,

A new challenge is starting over at As You Like It and the theme is anything Christmas.

For my DT card I have chosen to have a play with a new die from Concord & 9th called Ornament Inlay die.  I die cut it first in the off white cardstock and then, after I decided on the colours, added snippets of coloured card to the die and die cut again and again.  The only bits I haven't used snippets on are the holly and leaves as I wanted a soft green so used ink on those.  The circles in the middle are silver mirri card although they look black in the photo.

The sentiment is from a Woodware set and is heat embossed in silver.

We look forward to seeing all your Christmassy projects.  I think I'm about done with mine now.  I've been stamping the insides of my cards this week, which is my least favourite job.  I suppose I should complete the insides as I finish a card then I wouldn't have them all to do at once!

I would like to enter:

Snippets Playground - The blue, peach, corners and berries were all snippets,  although I didn't take a photo, sorry.
Christmas Kickstart - Anything Christmassy
Creative Inspirations - 'Tis the Season
Crafty Calendar - Christmas

Have a good day and thank you for visiting.

"NEW" AT ALLSORTS

 Morning Everyone,

We are starting with a new challenge over at Allsorts and Liz has chosen the theme of "New" such as home, baby, job etc and there's always the Anything Goes option.

My daughter asked me to make a card using the Honey Bee stamps dies "Bundle of Joy" for a friend so that is my DT card.  I have used very similar papers to a previous card, but only 3 outfits for a change.  The Congrats is a Creative Expressions die and the smaller part of the sentiment was made on the pc.  I've added hessian and little pearly hearts.

There are two prizes, A$ and A5 stamp sets from AALL and Create

I would like to enter this into the Snippets Playground as the baby clothes, rack and hangers were all snippets, but I forgot to take a photo.

I hope you can join us with your "New" events.  Have a lovely weekend.

GOLD, SILVER OR GLITTER

 Morning Everyone,

A new challenge is starting over at As You Like It and we would like to know whether you prefer gold, silver or glitter on your cards.

I do like all three, but when green and red are involved I prefer to use gold as it suits them better.  For my card I have used a wreath die from CraftAddiction and cut it out with differing shades of green designer paper.  The poinsettias are from a Spellbinders set, the bow from Alex Syberia and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. I've added some gold glitter paste on some of the leaves and gold enamel dots to finish it off.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

Busy day here today, well every day seems to be busy on the run up to Christmas!  I hope you have a good one whatever you may be doing.

I hope you've had an enjoyable weekend. I have made  a  Christmas card using this Chickadee image from Power Poppy.

I have coloured the image with copics and added glitter and liquid pearls for a bit of sparkle.  He has been cut out with a Sizzix oval die, the backing paper is from an old craft magazine and the sentiment is heat embossed in silver and from LOTV.

I would like to enter:

Thank you for visiting and have a good day.

FOCAL SENTIMENT

Morning Everyone,

A little late with my post this morning.  Dates just seemed to have run away with me!  Anyway, it's time for a new challenge over at Allsorts and, as well as the usual Anything Goes, Helen has chosen the theme of Sentiment in Focus.

I recently bought this MFT die from Vinted so thought I would use it for the challenge.  It is quite dangerous being on Vinted because you see stamps and dies you don't necessarily need but definitely want.  I have sold quite a few things on there too so it does come in handy as it's so easy to use.

Anyway back to my card.  As you can see I have cut the words in different colours for a bright card for a child.  I have coloured two little mice, also from a MFT set, and fussy cut them and stuck them to the card.  I did stamp the one with the balloon first so I didn't have to fussy cut the string. That would have been going too far.

Prize for the challenge is a lovely Sweep Poppy A5 stamp set and sentiment stencil plus a second 'surprise' prize.

I would like to enter:

Colourful Options - Rainbow colours
Word Power - Sentiment in focus
Classic Design - Anything Goes

I hope you can join us and you can pop over here to see the inspiration from the rest of the team.

Have a good weekend and I'll be back soon.

FAVOURITE EMBELLISHMENT?

Morning Everyone,

A new challenge starts over at As You Like It and we would like you to share a project containing your favourite embellishment.

Mine are definitely pearls and enamel dots.  They're not too bulky for posting and add a little bit of extra prettiness to a card.

I have used Pinkfresh Studio washi tape for this card and cut the pieces out with their respective dies.  The sentiment is from the same company and has been heat embossed in gold.  Sparkly enamel dots used this time as I didn't have the right colours in pearls.

I hope you can join us.  Thank you for visiting and have a good day.

CHRISTMAS AT ALLSORTS

Good Morning Everyone,

It's the start of a new challenge over at Allsorts and the alongside Anything Goes is Christmas cards.

For my DT card I have used the lovely Vintage Reindeer from Honey Bee Stamps.  She has been shaded in place with various inks, layered up and popped onto an oval which I stamped with a Penny Black stamp called Christmas Story.  The holly and bells are included in the set and the background papers are from an old Authentique pad.  I have quite a few vintage style papers in my stash so will probably have another play with this set again soon.  I decided to emboss the sentiment in gold onto a snippet of the striped paper, which worked ok by getting it central in between the lines.

There are 2 prizes of stamps, stencils and dies:

:

I would like to enter:

C.R.A.F.T. - Christmas
Penny's Paper Crafty - Anything Goes
Creative Knockouts - Time to be Merry
Christmas Kickstart - Just Add Antlers
PIP Challenge - Anything Goes
Critter Crazy - AG with a feature Critter

I look forward to seeing your entries, thank you for your visit and have a good weekend.

FAVOURITE CRITTER?

Good Morning Everyone,

Back again for the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It where we are asking you to share your projects containing a favourite critter.

Not in real life as I would freak if there was one in the house, but colouring wise I do love these cute mice with their big ears and they are easy to colour too.  This is a digi stamp from Di's digi designs. I've had it for ages and never coloured it up before so thought it was time.

I have used copics to colour and papers from a pad which seems to have gone walkies so I can't remember the make.  After I'd coloured quite a bit I had an ink mark where it couldn't be hidden so I fussy cut the image and glued it to another die cut circle.  I thought it was ruined at first but then thought they would be fairly easy to cut out so that it what I did.  The sentiment is from a Penny Black set.

I would like to enter:

Have a good day whatever you may be doing, thank you for your visit and I'll see you soon.

FIGGY PUDDING

Morning Everyone,

It's been a while sisnce I posted anything other than a DT card, but thought I'd have a play with this sweet die set from Spellbinders called Dancing Figgy Pudding.

I cut the little pud from a few snippets and inked the face at the edges.  The eyes and cheeks are just tiny bits of black and pink stuck to the back and I've added glossy accents to the berries.  The paper is from a piece from a LOTV pad and the sentiment from a Paper Smooches stamp set embossed in silver.

I would like to enter:

Penny's Paper Crafty - Anything Goes
Rudolph Days - Anything Christmas
Snippets Playground - Use snippets

Short and sweet today. I've been completing a few DT cards as I like to get them made up in advance at this time of year before the Christmas madness starts.

See you soon.

AUTUMN AT ALLSORTS

Morning Everyone,

A new challenge is starting at Allsorts today and the theme which has been chosen by Brenda is Autumn. and there is always Anything Goes too.

For my card I have used a digistamp from LOTV which I bought in a bundle in one of their offers.  I have coloured him and the leaves with copics.  The papers are all from an old LOTV pad and I have added twine and the sentiment from my stash.

Prizes are from Stamp Addicts and a gift voucher from Simon Says Stamp

RIBBON OR TWINE?

 Morning Everyone,

It's time for a new challenge over at As You Like It and and we are asking whether you prefer ribbon or twine on your projects.

I've had several attempts at my photo for this card but can't seem to get a good picture.  I've settled for this one, it is a bit darker than in irl but the others were too light.

Just lately I've been using more twine as I find it easier to tie a small bow and it's not so bulky as ribbon.
I have used a Spellbinders set called Hello You.  Die cut everything with coloured card and used ink for the darker shady bits.  The frame is from Pinkfresh Studio and the die inside the frame is an unbranded one from Amazon.    The orange paper is from a LOTV pad and mini tags from CraftAddiction.  I do like how you can imprint the words on these rather than having to use a stamp.

TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS COLOURS

Morning Everyone,

It's the start of a new challenge at Allsorts today and I have chosen the optional theme, alongside Anything Goes, which is 'Traditional Christmas Colours.'

For my card I have used a preloved stamp called Snowy Postcard from Stampendous recently bought on a FB declutter page.  I have inked the edges with antique linen Distress ink and coloured the holly and cottages with copics.  Glitter has been added to the snow.  I have used some tartan paper in red, green and gold from a First Edition pad and matted everything with gold paper.

I haven't added a sentiment as wherever I tried it just didn't look right so nothing added.  A few pearls were added for the berries on the holly.

There are two prizes, one is a Tim Holtz Festive Foliage stamp and the other is a £10 voucher for a digital prize, both from Buddly Crafts.

There are two weeks for the challenge and you can pop over to the challenge here to see the inspiration from the rest of the DT.

SQUARE OR NOT AT AYLI

 Morning Everyone,

We have a new challenge starting over at As You Like It and this week wold like to know whether you prefer to make square cards or not and don't forget to give your reason why please.

I do make both square and rectangular cards but square are my favourite as there seems to be more space on them to fit things in.  I usually make 6" square, but this one is a 7" and I definitely needed it for the large sentiment which is from Memory Box.

The cocktail glass etc are from Spellbinders and I have cut it out with gold card and then used coloured card for all the extras with a bit of inking on them for more depth.  The sentiment has been cut twice, once in white and once in gold and I've offset it a tiny bit so you can see the gold.  Some pearls and a little pearly heart finish it off.

I hope you can join us and you can pop over here to see the inspiration from the rest of the design team.

WOODLAND CRITTERS

Morning Everyone,

We have a new challenge starting at Allsorts where the theme is Woodland Critters as well as Anything Goes.

I thought I would take the opportunity to use an image from my Hunkydory Woodland Wildlife pad which has all the co-ordinating papers too.  I chose this cute red squirrel, cut him out with a stitched square die and used the co-ordinating papers and kraft card for the mats.  The sentiment tag is from CraftadditionUK finished off with a piece of twine.  I didn't add any embellishments as I thought this would be more suitable for a male card.

There are two prizes of Lavinia stamps, stencils and stampscapes, but to celebrate World Animal Day which is October 4th, as well as the Lavinia prizes below, there will be some surprise random spot prizes open to all entrants Worldwide.

I would like to enter:

Crafty Catz - Autumn/Fall colours

I hope you can join us. Thank you for visiting and have a good weekend.

FAVOURITE DIE?

Morning Everyone,

It's the start of a new challenge at As You Like It and we are asking you to share a project containing your favourite die (and don't forget to say why please).

Just lately mine seems to be this arch die from Spellbinders.  It makes a change from the usual square, rectangle etc and looks good on whichever shape card you choose.  A smaller arch die has been used to cut out the middle and make the frame.

I have used it with a digistamp by Louise Dunne which you can buy from CraftAddictionUK.  I've coloured him with copics and to insert the background die, which is from Memory Box, I have fussy cut him up to his scarf and slid the tree die and snow layer underneath so there are 3 layers under the arch as well as the red mat layer.  White glitter has been added to the trees and glitter glue to the snow.  The labels are also from CraftAddiction.

TREES/LEAVES/PLANTS AT ALLSORTS

Morning Everyone,

A new challenge starts over at Allsorts today and the theme apart from the Anything Goes option is Trees/ Leaves/Plants so it can be any one, two or all of these.

I have a folder on my desk of unfinished projects and on looking through found this tree image.  I have used a frilly die on a piece of scrap card and inked through it with Stampin Up Bashful Blue and then stamped the tree from Stampin Up Lovely as a Tree set a few times for the background.  The main tree was then stamped in DI Stormy Sky and I've added stickles to parts of it, although this can't be seen very well in the photo.  This was then backed with silver pearlescent card and added to a Spellbinders embossing folder called Forever Green.

The bottom layer is also silver, but looks very dark in the photo. I just couldn't get it to look the correct colour!  Silver ribbon has been used for the centre and the Noel is also from Spellbinders.

There are two prizes on offer for the lucky winners:

I would like to enter:

ABC Christmas - T is for Trees
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
Creative Inspirations - Christmas in September

I hope you can pop over and see the inspiration from the rest of the team.  Have a good weekend.

LAYERED OR FLAT?

Morning Everyone,

I hope you're having a good week.  Today is the start of a new challenge at As You Like It  and we are asking whether you prefer your cards to be layered or flat and don't forget to say why please.

I love having layers on my cards but if it is being posted I try to make them as flat as possible.  They don't have to be very thick to have the price bumped up.

For this card I have used an image from a LOTV art pad and die cut with a Creative Expressions square postage stamp die.  This was adhered to a piece of pink paper to match the image, another larger stamp die, some lacy trim and a piece of deep pink for the backing paper.  No embellishments as I didn't think they were needed, just a sentiment also from LOTV.

The sponsor for the challenge is:
I hope you can pop over and see the inspiration from the rest of the DT.
Have a good day. I have quite a busy one today so no time for crafting I'm afraid.

40th Birthday

Morning Everyone,

Today is the start of a new challenge over at Allsorts where the theme, alongside Anything Goes, is Birthdays.

I made a 40th card for my daughter-in-law to be using papers from a LOTV pad.  I don't get chance to use my huge stash of paper flowers much so went the whole hog with this one and used lilac, pale green and cream flowers to go with the papers.  The die cut circle is from Craft Consortium and I die cut the large 40 in silver card.  The sentiment, which I think is a magazine freebie, is heat embossed in silver.  A mini scalloped die from MFT has been used as an edger and a few pearls finish it off.

There are two prizes of 2 stamps sets on offer for the lucky winners

You have two weeks to enter and we look forward to seeing all your lovely entries.

Thank you for your visit and have a good weekend.

FAVOURITE COLOURING MEDIUM

 Morning Everyone,

A new challenge starts today over at As You Like It and we are asking you to share a project using your favourite colouring medium

Copics are my favourite markers mainly because I have used them from the start of my crafting journey and I have lots of colours.  I would like to try pencils some day but I never seem to have much time or, if I'm not happy with the results straight away, patience either!

For my card I have used a Gina K designs stamp set call Wishful Florals, cut them out with their dies and adhered them to my silver frame, which I think is an unbranded die from Amazon.  I've had it for ages so can't quite remember where it's from.  The sentiment is heat embossed and from Pinkfresh Studio.  Clear and purple dots were added for a bit of sparkle.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

My B's are Bird on a Branch and I have used a digital image which I won from Varada Sharma and coloured it with copics.  I then die cut it with Spellbinders arched dies and typed the sentiment on my pc.  The green backing paper is from a MFT paper pad.

There are 2 prizes of stamps and matching dies for the lucky winners.

I would like to enter:

Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Stamping Sensations - Birds, Bees & butterflies
Paper Fundays - Anything Goes

Have a good weekend.  It looks as though it's going to be a bit cooler here today which is good.

FAVOURITE SEASON

Morning Everyone,

It's the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking you to share a project which relates to your favourite season.

Mine is Spring.  I love it when the garden starts to wake up again with lovely Spring flowers after being so bare in the winter months.  It also means we are on the way to warmer weather.

For my card I have used three freebie images called Spring Botanicals from Uniko and coloured them with copics.  I have layered them up with co-ordinating colours and adhered them to wood effect white card.  Green and white twine and tiny labels from Mama Elephant finish it off.

ANIMALS AT ALLSORTS

Morning Everyone,

We have a new challenge over at Allsorts and Helen has chosen the optional theme of Animals and, of course, there is always Anything Goes.

I had a delve into my NBUS basket to see what was there for the theme and found these little hippos from Clearly Besotted.  I must admit I was a little stuck on what to do with them so I decided to colour them up with my copics first then fussy cut them and that way I had a few more options on how to use them.  When that was all done I had a play around.  There were some already cut hexagons on my desk and after a bit of playing about I decided on the above layout.    The sentiment is from an old set, also from Clearly Besotted and I added tiny pearls to the centres of the flowers.

There are 2 prizes of Lavinia stamps, stencils and stampscapes for the lucky winners

I would like to enter:

Penny's Paper Crafty - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp  Weds - Anything Goes
Critter Crazy - ATG with a featured critter
Passion for Markers - Dies and/or Punches

Have a good weekend.  Hubby's football matches start again today so he will be out and I will be having some crafting time hopefully!

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

 Hello Everyone,

I've just managed to finish this card which I've had on the go for a few days.

I've used a cute digi from Di's digistamps called Robin and Mouse Believe in Christmas and have coloured them with copics.  I had a look through my Christmas snippets box and came across this blue backing paper which was nigh on perfect size.  I typed the sentiment on my pc and cut out with stitched rectangle die and that's it, quite quick and simple, apart from the colouring.

I would like to enter:

CATS OR DOGS?

Morning Everyone,

A new challenge is starting today over at As You Like It  and we are asking whether you prefer "Cats or Dogs" and don't forget to say why they are your favourite please.

Mine has to be dogs. I've never owned a cat and dogs are such good company and loving pets. We lost one of our little boys last year but still have our ruby KC Cavalier, Charlie, who gets thoroughly spoiled by hubby.

Whilst having a browse on Etsy for something, can't remember what now, I found these fun images of dogs so thought I would have a play with them.  You get 10 different images for your purchase and they're on sale for £1.77.  I thought I would go bright and used MFT zig zag and balloon dies and also a MFT sentiment heat embossed in white.  All the brights are cut out from snippets.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I would like to enter:

Crafty Catz - Child's Birthday
Critter Crazy - Birthday featuring a critter

A rainy start here today.  Have a good one whatever you may be doing.
