WINTER VILLAGE

Morning Everyone,

I hope you've all had a good Christmas.  We had a quiet day yesterday so I was pleased to get back in the craft room and finish off this card which I have been making on and off for at least a week.  With Christmas preparations and such small die cuts it seems to have taken ages.

It is a Honey Bee stamp set called Winter Village and some of the pieces are so tiny it puts me off making it again in a hurry, but we'll see.  I've torn some oddments of white hammered cardstock to look like snowy hillocks and added the houses and church.  The church looks a bit on a slope in the photo but it doesn't seem that bad in real life.  The sky was a scrap from my 'blue' box and all the buildings are made from snippets.

This is a pic of just some of the snippets used after die cutting.  There is a lot but, because they are so small, I'm afraid it doesn't use up much of my snippets mountain just some of my patience glueing them all together!  I've added snow by way of watering down and splattering white pigment ink with a paint brush.  This was a bit risky for me as you never know how it's going to come out so I had to be extra careful.  The sentiment is stamped in silver metallic ink and is from a Simon Says stamp set.

I would like to enter:

Thank you for stopping by and have a good weekend.

USE YOUR DIES

Morning Everyone,

A little bit of exciting news today and that is that I have joined the lovely Brenda and the amazing team at Allsorts!  So this is my post which is for the first of the new fortnightly system.   The theme has been set by Sarah and is "Use Your Dies" and there is always the "Anything Goes" option too.

I have certainly gone to town with my dies for this card.  The arch die is from Spellbinders and the Holiday Bells for which I've used two shades of pink and silver are from Honey Bee stamps.  The holly die is an old one from Creative Expressions and the sentiment, which has been stamped in silver metallic ink and cut out with their respective dies, is from The Greetery.

There are three lovely prizes of dies and co-ordinating stamps from Oakwood.

For all the details and to see the inspiration from the rest of the DT you can pop over here.

I would like to enter:

Simon Says Stamp Weds - Use Craft Dies
Polkadoodles - Anything Goes
Gem of a Craft - Anything Goes
Crafty Calendar - Anything Goes

This will probably be my last post before the big day so I wish you all a Merry Christmas, hope you have a great time and thank you all for your visits over the last year and for taking the time to comment.

CHRISTMAS

Hello Everyone,

I'm a little late with my post for the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It where the theme is anything Christmas.

I have used a Power Poppy image from my card and coloured with copics.  It's such a lovely image and very quick and easy to colour.  Gold card has been used for the mats, the backing paper is from a First Edition pad and the sentiment from a Woodware stamp.

I would like to enter:

Colourful Options - Red/Green/Gold
Passion for Markers - Anything Goes
Christmas Kickstart - Anything Christmas
Crafty Calendar - Anything Goes
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
C.R.A.F.T. - Christmas - the last stretch

Thank you for your visit today and I will be back soon.
