MONOCHROMATIC

Morning Everyone,

We have a new challenge starting over at Allsorts where the theme to go alongside Anything Goes is 'Monochromatic'.

I have chosen to use a Stampin Up die set, Blossoms in Bloom, with the top layer cut out in white and the bottom in lilac. I have placed them onto white card and then die cut a mat with a double stitched square.
The sentiment has been heat embossed in silver and a final touch of a few sequins have been added.

There are 2 prizes, A5 stamp set and A6 stamp and stencil

I hope you can join us and our next challenge will be a special Birthday celebration with numerous prizes on offer.

Have a lovely weekend.

CUTE OR ELEGANT?

 Morning Everyone,

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It where the theme is "Cute or Elegant?".

I do like to make cute cards for children, but more often than not my makes are floral.   I make quite a few for an elderly aunt to give to her friends.  For this card I have used a Stampin Up layered peony in cream and used snippets of green and brown papers for the die cuts.  The sentiment is heat embossed in gold and from MFT.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I would like to enter:

Snippets Playground - Snippets used were green leaves, square, sentiment and scalloped brown paper, but no photo sorry.

I hope you can join us in the challenge and you can pop over here to see the inspiration from the rest of the DT.

Have a good weekend.

TREES/LEAVES/PLANTS AT ALLSORTS

Morning Everyone,

A new challenge starts over at Allsorts today and the theme apart from the Anything Goes option is Trees/ Leaves/Plants so it can be any one, two or all of these.

I have a folder on my desk of unfinished projects and on looking through found this tree image.  I have used a frilly die on a piece of scrap card and inked through it with Stampin Up Bashful Blue and then stamped the tree from Stampin Up Lovely as a Tree set a few times for the background.  The main tree was then stamped in DI Stormy Sky and I've added stickles to parts of it, although this can't be seen very well in the photo.  This was then backed with silver pearlescent card and added to a Spellbinders embossing folder called Forever Green.

The bottom layer is also silver, but looks very dark in the photo. I just couldn't get it to look the correct colour!  Silver ribbon has been used for the centre and the Noel is also from Spellbinders.

There are two prizes on offer for the lucky winners:

I would like to enter:

ABC Christmas - T is for Trees
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
Creative Inspirations - Christmas in September

I hope you can pop over and see the inspiration from the rest of the team.  Have a good weekend.

EMBOSSING AT AYLI

 Morning Everyone,

Today is te start of a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking for a project showing your favourite way to emboss (wet/dry).

I use heat embossing more, especially for sentiments, as I think it makes them look a bit more special.  For this card I have heat embossed the sentiment, which is from Simon Says Stamp, in silver, used a Stampin Up Blooming Heart die and a double stitched square die to cut it all out. Pearls and clear gems, which look like little black dots in the photo, have finished it off.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

You can pop over here to see the inspiration from the rest of the team. Thank you for your visit and I will be back soon.

WITH SYMPATHY

 Morning Everyone,

This is a card I've had in my drafts for a few weeks.  Not the sort of card you like to make but I felt as though I had to as the person who would read it does like to receive my cards.

I was short of ideas at the time so had a browse through Pinterest and this is what I came up with.
I cut a rectangular template with a die and inked three shades of blue through it.  The silhouette stamps are old ones from Stampin Up and the sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp set. It was cut out with a stitched rectangle die and glued onto black card.

I would like to enter:

Allsorts - Get Well/With Sympathy
Classic Design - Anything Goes

Thank you for visiting and have a good day.

DESIGNER PAPER

 Morning Everyone,

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme is 'Designer Paper'.

I thought this was an ideal time to use some of my Stampin Up specialty paper which is see through and the flowers have a felty feel to them.  I layered it onto some green card and then a silver mirri stitched surround.  A die cut Spellbinders poinsettia in white has been glued together and sparkle added to it by way of white glitter.  I also used silver mirri for the leaves, heat embossed a sentiment and cut that out with a stitched banner.  Silver ribbon finished it off.

There are two prizes on offer and the closing date is Tuesday, 9th April so still plenty of time to enter.

I would like to enter:

ABC Christmas - F for faux stitching
Christmas Kickstart - Get Your Grinch on (use green)
Rudolph Days - Anything Christmas
Snippets Playground - snippets used were the poinsettia, sentiment and silver leaves.

Thank you for taking the time to read and I will be back soon.

QUICK BIRTHDAY CARD

Morning All,

A quick card here using some more of my Stampin Up specialty paper layered onto a piece of lilac paper, my favourite colour, and with enamel dots and sparkly gems added.   The paper does have a slight pattern to it, but not visible very well in the photo.

The sentiment has been stamped and heat embossed in silver.

I would like to enter:

Paper Funday - 5th birthday bash
Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes
Stamping Sensations - Favourite colour

I know the popularity of blogging has decreased to what it was a few years ago so I would like to thank my faithful followers and all those who comment on my cards and I wish you all a Happy New Year.

DIE CUT BLOSSOMS

 Hello Everyone,

When I saw that a couple of challenges were asking for die cuts on their entries it inspired me to finish off two half made cards that had been sat on my desk for a while.  I don't know if anyone else starts a card and then goes onto something else, but it seems to be one of my bad habits.

This is my card and the dies are from Stampin Up, called Many Layered Blossoms.  I'd seen quite a few in different colours on Pinterest so thought I'd give it a go.  Not as easy as I thought it would be.  I coloured it all with my Prismacolor markers, but you have to be careful to get the colours underneath in the right place so they don't overlap when you add the top die.  A few sequins and a gold embossed sentiment finish it off.

I would like to enter:

Allsorts - Use die cuts
Classic Design - Anything Goes

I'm hoping to get my other one finished so may be back tomorrow.  Thank you for visiting.

FAVOURITE NON-BIRTHDAY OCCASION?

 Morning Everyone,

Today is the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking to see your favourite non' birthday projects.

My favourite has to be Christmas although, apart from my Christmas DT posts, I have been trying not to make too many this year as I still have some left from last year.  I just love all the sparkle you can add to a card and heat embossing.    Saying that there's not a lot of extra sparkle on this card only on the paper which has glitter on it.  I have heat embossed my favourite tree from Stampin Up onto black card, added two co-ordinating papers and some upcycled ribbon from a present last year.

The sponsor for this challenge is:

with a prize for the lucky winner.

I would like to enter:

ABC Christmas - L for Lots of Layers
Crafts Galore - Anything Goes
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
Simon Says Wed - Lots of Layers
Festive Friday - Christmas
Rabisco challenge - Anything Goes

Thank you for your visit and have a good weekend when it gets here.

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS IMAGE OR ANIMAL

 Good Morning Everyone,

It is the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking for your favourite image or animal for Christmas cards.

I do like to make a few cards with Christmas tree images.  A lot of the people I send cards to aren't really the cute animal types so I like to make some cards more suitable for them and this Stampin Up tree, which I have heat embossed in copper, is my favourite.  I have used copper pearlescent card for the mats and added pretty ribbon to match.

The sponsor for this challenge is:

I would like to enter:

ABC Christmas - U for unusual colours
Simon Says Weds - Anything Goes
Crafty Catz - Ribbon or Twine

My shopping trip yesterday went quite well with a few small presents bought.  It's raining quite heavily here at the moment so it will be a stay at home day today.  Thank you for your visit and have a good day.

WHITE ON WHITE

Good Morning Everyone,

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme this month is "White on White".

For my DT card I have used a Spellbinders poinsettia die cut with snippets in white (of which I have a drawer full), foliage from a Sizzix Tim Holtz set and a Merry Christmas die.  I have edged the poinsettia leaves in glitter and added pearls here and there.  For the bottom half of the card I have used some Stampin Up speciality paper which is raised and has a velvety feel.  The vellum backing of the paper makes it look a little dark, but it is quite white in real life. The two halves of the card are divided by white ribbon.

Remember, you must display this logo to be eligible for the prize draw, which this month is a paper pad and matching stamp.

I would like to enter:

Snippets Playground - Flower, foliage and sentiment were all snippets
Festive Friday - Anything Christmas
Crafty Catz - AG/option ribbon or twine
Christmas Kickstart - Poinsettias and posies
Crafts Galore - Anything Goes
ABC Christmas - V for velvet

I am venturing to the shops today to start having a look round for some of the smaller presents we usually buy for Christmas.  Let's hope it's a fruitful trip!  Thank you for visiting and have a good day.

METALLIC OR GLITTER CARD STOCK

Morning Everyone,

There is a new challenge starting over at As You Like It and we are asking you to showcase a project using your favourite of either Metallic or Glitter card stock.

I use a lot more metallic than glitter, mainly because I tend to use glitter card only on Christmas cards, but when I heat emboss something mirror card goes so well with it.

For my DT card I have used a Stampin Up Magnolia stamp heat embossed in gold and coloured very lightly in pink and green.  Gold mirri card has been used for the mats and I've just added 6 glitter dots in the same colours.  Very simple, but I am pleased with how it turned out.

I haven't added a sentiment as not yet decided what to use it for.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I would like to enter:

TREES AT CHRISTMAS CRAFT CREATIONS

Good Morning Everyone,

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme this month is Trees.

I've had this Stampin Up Set "Festival of Trees" for about 5 years now and never used it so I thought I'd have a play with it in different colours.  I've used 3 Distress Oxides and the garland on the pink tree has been heat embossed in silver as has the sentiment. A simple, fun and flat card for posting.

I hope you can join in this month. You have until 12th July to enter and there is a Stampin Up set on offer for the lucky random winner.

I wold like to enter:

Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
Simon Says Weds - Add a Sentiment

Thank you for visiting and whatever you may be doing today, have a good one.

Happy Birthday

Hello Again,

Another card to enter into the Allsorts 13th Birthday celebrations.  This is a Stampin Up Die which I cut into the stitched square and then used distress inks with sponge daubers to colour in the flowers and leaves.

I had to keep putting the die cut back to make sure the colours were all in the correct place and when that was finished I glued the die cut back in place and stamped the sentiment in silver underneath.  A few clear raindrops finished it off.

I would like to enter:

Allsorts - Birthdays
Simon Says Stamp  - Anything Goes
Classic Design Challenge - Anything Goes

Thank you for taking the time to visit and I will be back again tomorrow.

FLORAL BIRTHDAY

Good Morning Everyone,

This is a card I've made with my fairly new Stampin Up stamps and dies called Artistically Inked.

The flowers and leaves are the layering type and have been stamped in 2 shades of yellow and green and cut out with their dies. The smaller leaves are gold as is the strip of tape, but they look black in the photo.  I've added a few splatters of gold paint and the sentiment from the set is heat embossed in gold.

I'm not overly happy with the final outcome, but it's only my first attempt at playing with the set so hopefully will improve in time.

I would like to enter:

Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
CCC Digi Creations - Add/include flowers
Crafty Calendar - Spots/Stripes
Simon Says Weds - A Bit o' Green

Thank you for visiting and have a good weekend.

FAVOURITE PRIMARY COLOUR

 Good Morning Everyone,

Today is the start of a new challenge at As You Like It where we are asking you to show us a project using your favourite primary colour.

Blue has been mine for years, until recently when I have changed slightly towards purple, but as that isn't a primary colour I have used blue for my card.  I don't know about anyone else, but I love it when the sky is totally blue in the summer with no clouds, it is beautiful.

I have used some Stampin Up specialty laser cut paper for my card.  It comes in a 12" x 12" sheet and I have carefully cut part of it so it fits the corner and glued with tiny dots of liquid glue to the blue paper.  I have added some clear sparkly dots here and there and heat embossed the sentiment in silver.

WHITE POINSETTIA

Morning Everyone,

A quick post to share a CAS Christmas card.  I'm really trying to make my Christmas cards more cas and flat for posting this year.

This is a small 4 3/4" card where I have cut a stitched square and fussy cut 3 poinsettias from some Plush Poinsettia Specialty paper from Stampin Up.  The paper is lovely and they feel like felt.  I have heat embossed the sentiment in silver and matted onto some silver pearlescent card.

I would like to enter:

FAVOURITE TYPE OF STITCHING

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you are keeping well.  It is time for a new challenge at As You Like It and this time we would like to see a project with your favourite type of stitching.

For the majority of my cards I use stitched dies because I love how they make the edges look neat.  I do sometimes hand stitch, it just depends on the style of card.

I have made a new home card for my stepson who has been living with us for a few months till his new house was completed.  He moved into the house on his own after a break up and, with him living with us for a while, I cottoned onto his colour scheme for the furnishings etc.  That is why I chose to use these colours. The little house has been stamped and fussy cut and is from Stampin Up.

LET'S BE MERRY

 Good Morning Everyone,

Thank you for your comments on my last post.  My little pooch has an ulcer on his eye and we have to keep putting drops in.  Hopefully it will clear it up, but if not, another visit to the vets it will be.

I've made a cas Christmas card following the prompt from the CAS Christmas challenge which is "Snowman".

I have used one of my favourite little snowmen from Mo Manning, coloured with copics and fussy cut.  I then attached it to a stitched square which has been embossed with a snowflake from Stampin Up.  The sentiment has been stamped in metallic silver and is from Paper Smooches.

I would like to enter:

Mo's Digital Pencil - Anything Mo Goes

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a good week.
