ANYTHING GOES AT AS YOU LIKE IT

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you are all well into your Christmas preparations. Not long to go now.

There's a new challenge over at As You Like It and to make things easy the theme is Anything Goes.  I know I've been short on crafting time lately as I'm sure most of you have been.  I think some of the glue on my card was still wet when I took this photo!

I've used a cute Penguin Nativity image from Whimsy Stamps and coloured them with copics.
I've added a Memory Box star die in white glitter card, a doily  and some tiny blue gems in the shape of stars. The sentiment and papers are from LOTV.

The sponsor for the challenge is

the prize being the 3 images used by our DT and Guest Designers

Challenges to enter:

Crafty Gals Corner #181 - Anything Goes

CAROLS AND SONGS AT CWT CUTIES

Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge over at Christmas with the Cuties and the theme is Carols and Songs so we would like to see something cute and Christmassy along those lines.

Now I must admit this wasn't my intended card for the challenge, but time has been so short with Christmas preparations, meals out etc., I didn't have time to finish it, but luckily I had this card in my drafts waiting to be used.

When I saw these Gerda Steiner Carol Kittens, I just loved the expressions on their faces so had to buy them from Dies to Die For when they became available.  I've coloured them with copics, fussy cut them out and used a wall embossing folder for the background and a Sizzix street lamp die.  I had a little holly stamp so used that on the wreath and added glossy accents to the bow.  The paper for the pavement is from my scraps folder and the sentiment is embossed onto the wall and comes with the kitten stamp set. I've also added glitter to the kittens' hats.

The sponsor for the challenge this month is:

I would like to enter these challenges:

Pixie's Snippets Playground  #341 - snippets used are the pavement strip, the street lamp, wreath and little kittens.

FAVOURITE XMAS ANIMAL?

Morning Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at As You Like It and this time we would like to see projects containing your favourite Christmas animal (and don't forget to tell us why please).

I have chosen this cute Stamping Bella reindeer for mine, I mean where would Santa be without them to help him distribute presents?  Also, who can resist such a cute reindeer?

I must say I really struggled with this card.  I'd had him coloured up with copics for a while, but when it came to deciding on a layout I think my mojo had gone awol! In the end I used my new MFT background stamp, which I embossed in white, and also my favourite mini scalloped dies.  The usual additions on a Christmas card for me, i.e. glitter, a little snowflake and glossy accents finished it off.  This will be a nice flat one for posting.

The sponsor for the challenge is

with a lovely prize for the winner

I hope you'll be able to join in on this one and you can pop over here to see the inspiration from the rest of the DT.

I would like to enter:

FANCY FOLDS - SPARKLES DT

Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at Sparkles Christmas and the theme is Fancy Folds.

I don't make many fancy fold cards and this Joy fold is probably as fancy as I get.  This was inspired by Mrs. A's lovely card. It was a fold I hadn't seen before so thought I'd have a go.  My image is a freebie from a magazine and the papers are First Edition.  I've added an inlaid snowflake die, gold soft sheen card, gold gems and a gold embossed sentiment from Inkylicious.

I hope you can join us in this last challenge of the year and to see the lovely inspiration from the rest of the DT you can pop over here.

I would like to enter:

Penny's Paper Crafty  - Anything Goes
Card Mania - Christmas
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas - Anything Goes
Rudolph Days Extra Challenge

ANYTHING BUT A CARD AT CWTCUTIES

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you've had a good weekend.  We were out at a quiz on Saturday night, very enjoyable but didn't do very well I'm afraid.

Anyway, it's time for the start of another challenge over at Christmas with the Cuties and the theme is Anything But a Card, so as long as it's cute and is a christmas project, we would love you to join in

I decided on a small gift bag that I had and used an image kindly provided by our lovely sponsors at Crafty Sentiments. I've coloured him with copics, distressed the edges of the papers and added faux stitching with a gel pen on the blue paper, which was a freebie from a magazine.  I also glittered up 2 die cut snow flakes and cut them in half and added them as shown.  The little tag was made with a scalloped circle and glittered snowflake.  A small ribbon bow and that's it!

I hope you like and can join us this month, only one more challenge to go.  I can't believe how fast this year has gone.

I would like to enter:

Rudolph Days November Challenge - Anything Christmas
Pixie's Snippets Playground - snippets used were the white glitter card under the image and the tag.
Crafteezee Shop - Anything but a Card
That's Crafty - Winter Wonderland
Creative Craft Cottage - Christmas is Coming

Thank you for visiting and I hope you can leave a comment, I do love to read them.

RUBBER OR DIGI AT AYLI

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you are all keeping well and warm now it's getting a bit colder.

It's time for a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking whether you prefer to use rubber or digi stamps (and don't forget to tell us why please).

I do have quite a few of both, but for this challenge I have chosen digi purely for the reason of being able to re-size them.

I have used a recently purchased Lee Holland digi and coloured him up with copics.  I have also used a rubber sentiment stamp as for Christmas cards I often like to heat emboss them.  The papers are from an old LOTV pad and the sentiment is from a Woodware set.  The snowflakes are two that I've stuck together from my little snowflake drawer.  I bought a bundle of them all ready die cut from Ebay once so not sure what make they are.

Gems, glitter, glossy accents and a sparkle pen have been added, but as usual this can't be seen on the photo.

The sponsor for this challenge is Crafty Ribbons with a £10 voucher for the lucky winner, so if you'd like to see the inspiration from the rest of the DT you can pop over here.

I would like to enter these challenges:

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas - Anything Goes
Incy Wincy Designs - Square cards only
Addicted to Stamps - Anything Goes
Fab n Funky - Christmas
That's Crafty - Winter Wonderland
Aud Sentiments - Christmas or Winter Sentiment

Before I go, I would like to say hello and thank you to Bunny for being my latest follower. I hope you enjoy looking at my makes.

I will be back on Monday so, in the meantime,  have a good weekend.

SWEET SNOWMAN

Good Morning Everyone,

Hope you are having a good weekend.  I have another just for fun Christmas card today, I seem to be on a roll with these at the moment.

It's a small A6 size as the stamp from the PB Jolly Friends set is quite small so I thought I'd make a quick card with him as he is so cute.  I've coloured him with copics, fussy cut and added him to the card with a silver embossed sentiment, also from Penny Black, from the Christmas Cheer set.
Three Tattered Lace mini snowflakes have been added to the corner with little gems in their centres.

I would like to enter these challenges:

Allsorts - CAS Christmas
Di's Digistamps - Include a sentiment
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes
Stamping Sensations - Get Ready for Christmas
Crafty Friends - Pearls or Gems
Ellibelle's Crafty Weds November - Christmas

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a good week.

REJOICE, REJOICE

Morning Everyone,

I have a quick christmas card to share today which is a small 5" x 5".

I have used a House Mouse mini stamp, which is the reason for it being a small card.  It just looked a bit lost on anything bigger.  I've coloured with copics and made the little bird into a robin. The rejoice stamp came with the the main stamp and I've embossed this in silver, added some white ribbon and a Spellbinders lacey circle in white glitter card.  The punched snowflakes, also in glitter card,  are a Martha Stewart punch and I've finished off with gems and pearls. I've also used stitched square and circle dies.

I would like to enter these challenges:

House Mouse and Friends - Anything Goes
Pixie's Snippets Playground - snippets were the white glitter card for the snowflakes and lacey circle
Dream Valley - Use dies and punches
Stamping Sensations - Get Ready for Christmas
Creative Craft Cottage - Christmas is Coming
Addicted to Stamps - Anything Goes

Thank you for visiting and have a good weekend.  I'm going to start my Christmas shopping I think, it's got to be done sometime!

AYLI DT - MONOCHROME OR BRIGHT COLOURS

Morning Everyone,

It's time for a new challenge at As You Like It and this fortnight we would like to see projects in either monochrome or bright colours (and don't forget to tell us the reason for your choice please).

I've chosen monochrome as I don't make many bright coloured cards, but I do love this style and I think monochrome shades make them look elegant.

I've hand stitched my papers, which are from The Promise by First Edition and added a Memory Box Catalina wreath die in 2 shades.  I heat embossed the sentiment in gold and added flowers in shades of cream, a Memory Box leaf die to match and pearls.

The sponsor of the challenge is

with a gift voucher for the lucky winner

EMBOSSING - SPARKLES CHRISTMAS DT

Morning Everyone,

It's the beginning of a new month so the start of a new challenge at Sparkles Forum Christmas and this time we would like your Christmas project to include embossing,  either dry or heat.

For my card I've stamped a Creative Expressions Shaded Poinsettia onto red and green card for the leaves with versamark ink and heat embossed it with clear powder.  I fussy cut it out and layered it all up.  I've added three gold gems and some ferns from a Martha Stewart punch.  I've also heat embossed the sentiment in gold and the papers are from a First Edition pad. The stitched scalloped dies are MFT from Dies to Die For.

I hope you can join us in the challenge and if you'd like to pop over here you'll be able to see the rest of the DT inspiration.

GOLDEN CHRISTMAS

Morning Everyone,

I hope you've had a good weekend.  The temperature has certainly gone down here with Saturday being the coldest day we've had for a long time.

I've made a quick card here by upcycling a card received last year.  I don't save many, but the ones I think I could do something with go into a drawer.

I cut the gold glittered tree and sentiment out with a stitched rectangle die and glued it onto gold mirri card.  Another stitched rectangle was cut and I added four small strips of mirri card to this, glued it onto a hammered white card base and added four gold gems to match.  This was a super quick make, I think the part that took the longest was deciding on the layout!

I would like to enter these challenges:

October Rudolph Days - Anything Christmas
ABC Christmas - V for very quick
Allsorts - Pearls and/or Gems
Crafter's Castle - Winter/Christmas
Pixie's Snippets Playground - All pieces except the card base were snippets

AUTUMN OR HALLOWEEN COLOURS?

Morning Everyone,

It's time for a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking you to showcase a project showing your favourite of either Autumn or Halloween colours (and don't forget to say why please).

I'm not really a bright colours person and black, purple and orange are the colours I associate with halloween.  I much prefer the lovely muted colours of autumn, greens, browns, oranges and reds and although I haven't made an autumnal card, I thought they would be good colours for a man.

This is a 7" card and I've used "Put Your Feet Up" from LOTV. He is coloured in copics apart from the chair which I've paper pieced in green and shaded here and there with a green copic.  The lamp and film strip dies are from Poppystamps at Dies to Die For.  A lot of distressing on this card with a Tim Holtz tool and also some Old Paper distress ink around the edges of the image.

The challenge is sponsored by

with a choice of 3 digi images for the lucky winner

If you pop over to the challenge you'll be able to see the inspiration from the rest of the DT.

I would like to enter these challenges:

WRAP UP WARM AT CWTCUTIES

Good Morning All,

I hope you've had a good weekend.  It's time for a new challenge over at Christmas with the Cuties and our theme is "Wrap Up Warm" so if your project fits that theme and is cute and christmassy, we would love you to play along.  After all, not long to go now.

For my card I've used a Mo Manning image called Valerie in Winter.  I've coloured her with copics apart from her coat which I've paper pieced with snippets. The background paper is First Edition and the sentiment, which I've embossed in silver, is from LOTV.  I love the script on this and it stamps so well.

I've been a bit frugal and just used strips of silver sheen card die cut with mini scallops under the image.  Talking about being frugal, I also cut a large square out of the bottom layer of silver to save too!

The sponsor for the challenge is Crafty Ribbons with a voucher for the lucky winner.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

A Gem of a Challenge - Anything Goes
Pixie's Snippets Playground - snippets were the coat pieces, snowflakes and silver scalloped strips
Little Miss Muffet - Anything Goes

CAS OR FUSSY AND FANCY?

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you are all keeping well.  It is time for a new challenge at As You Like It and for this fortnight we would like to see your CAS or Fussy and Fancy projects, whichever is your favourite (and don't forget to say why please).

I think my usual style is in between, but for special occasions/people I like to pull out the stops and add more embellishments etc.  I think it shows that I've made more of an effort and they do look pretty with all the extras.  For my card I've used a ready to print LOTV watercolour (no longer on sale) and made an easel card with Go Kreate dies in colours to match.  The papers are an old LOTV pad.  Flowers and embellishments are from WOC and the Ribbon Girl.

I hope you like it and if you'd like to pop over to the challenge we have 3 lovely new DT members to inspire you even further.

The sponsor for the challenge is

with a lovely £10 voucher for the winner

Challenges I would like to enter:

The Ribbon Girls - Anything Goes

CHRISTMAS IS FOR KIDS

Good morning everyone,

It's time for a new challenge over at Sparkles Christmas and the theme for this month is "For a Child",  so any project for a child as long as it's a Christmas one.

For my DT card I've used this cute Santa image from Di's Digistamps and coloured it with copics. The background papers are freebies from a magazine and the sentiments are from a Clearly Besotted stamp set. I've added glossy accents to Rudolph's nose and stickles around the sentiments and the image.  I've used a few snippets on this card too which I've noted below.

I hope you can join us as there are only two more challenges after this one before we hit the big day!

I would like to enter these challenges:

Addicted to Stamps - Christmas comes early
Winter Wonderland - Anything Goes
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas - Anything Goes

CHRISTMAS FRIENDS

Hi Everyone

I've made a quick card so I can enter this month's Rudolph Days challenge.  I say quick, but I've been making it over the last few days now so I'm a bit last minute.

It's a small 5" card with 2 little Robins from the Penny Black Christmas Friends stamp set.  I've coloured them with copics, fussy cut them out  and stuck with tape onto a piece of silver twine.  The inlaid sentiment is a Sue Wilson die which I've cut with glitter card.  It was the first time I've tried this inlay technique and it was a bit fiddly, to say the least, with all the little pieces to stick back in!  This has all been matted onto silver mirri card and a few sequins have been added as I'm one of those people who don't like a lot of white space :).

So, challenges I would like to enter:

September Rudolph Days
Addicted to Stamps - Christmas comes early
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp Weds Challenge - Anything Goes
Christmas at Sweet Stampin - Anything Goes

Thank you for visiting and I hope you can leave a comment.  I will be back tomorrow with a DT card.  Have a good day,

FAVOURITE SEASON - AYLI DT

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you are well.  It's been unseasonably warm here today (Weds),  22 degrees,  and we'd picked today because it was going to be cloudy to plant a new hedge in the front garden.  Needless to say it didn't all get finished, we'll have to carry on tomorrow.

At As You Like It for the next fortnight we are asking you to showcase a project showing your favourite season (and you must tell us why please).

I love Spring because winter is nearly over and the gardens start to burst into life again.  I love seeing the colours of spring bulbs and it also means we have warmer days to look forward to.

For my DT card I've used Whimsy Stamps Springtime with this cute bunny and little bird in his basket.  I've coloured them with copics and cut them out with a Tattered Lace square doily die.  I decided to hand stitch around the papers as when I use a sewing machine I never seem to get the corners right but, with the time it took by hand, I don't think I'll be doing it very often!  Two little butterflies, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and some lovely pink gingham ribbon finish it off.  The papers are old LOTV.

The sponsor of the challenge is

with a £20 voucher for the lucky winner

I hope you can join us and pop over to see the lovely inspiration from the rest of the DT.

I would like to enter these challenges:

CWTC DT - Card for a child

Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at Christmas with the Cuties and the theme is "For a Child" so as long as it fits that theme and is cute and christmassy we would love you to join in.

Not sure what's gone wrong with my photo.  I've took it at an angle, but the whole thing seems to be lopsided!  I have used a pre-coloured Pink Gem image and fussy cut him out to sit on the die cut oval.  The papers are from an old LOTV paper pad and the sentiment is computer generated.  I've embossed the white oval shape with a snowflake folder and added red glitter around the red oval.

I would like to enter these challenges:

Crafty Catz - Let's Do Christmas
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas - Anything Goes
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Lets Craft and Create - Anything goes
Little Miss Muffet - Anything goes

I think that's all for now. Thank you for visiting and I hope you all have a good week.

ACROSS THE MILES

Good Morning Everyone,

This is a card I made for my brother's birthday.  I never find masculine cards very easy, but I've had these car images stashed away for a while so this one's come in handy at last!

The bottom paper is from the Works, but the image, checked paper and number plates are Mister Tom's Treasures from Pion Design.    I've distressed all the edges and stamped the sentiment onto a snippet of the paper and also stamped the postmark from LOTV at the top.

I would like to enter these challenges:

Pixie's Snippets Playground - snippets used were some of the kraft card, checked paper and the sentiment
The Sketchy Challenges - Travel, Across The Miles

BOY OR GIRL? - AYLI DT

Good Morning Everyone,

Do you prefer making projects for boys or girls?  That is the theme for the new challenge at As You Like It.

I find it much easier to make a girlie card rather than a boy one.   There always seems to be more of  a choice of embellishments to make them pretty .  Saying that I haven't added a lot to this card, only stars in different colours of glitter, some of which are leftovers from a die and the smaller ones are from my Fiskars paper puncher.  I've coloured them with pens to match little Unicorn Lucy from CC Designs who was coloured with copics and then fussy cut to sit on the card.

I thought I'd try a number shaped card so attempted this with my Scan n Cut machine which I bought a few weeks ago on Ebay.  It took several looks on Youtube and attempts at the cutting, but I made it in the end!  The sentiment is a Gummiapan die which I've lathered with glossy accents to make it shiny and I've also added a glitter pen to Lucy's wings, tail and horn.

I hope you can join us and the lucky winner will receive a voucher from

HAPPY REINDEER

Good Morning Everyone,

I have a just for fun card today, which makes a change from DT cards.  When I saw the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches I thought I'd have a go though I have left it quite late!

This is my card

and this is the sketch

When I saw it I thought I could use my new reindeer stamp from the LOTV Christmas Friends set.  I've coloured him with copics and also used liquid pearls around the image and glossy accents on his nose.   The main dp is from an old LOTV paper pad and for the banners I used snippets from my christmas papers folder.

I would like to enter these challenges:

BLUE & GOLD CHRISTMAS

Good Morning Everyone,

It's the start of a new month (can't believe it's September already) and time for a new challenge at Sparkles Christmas.  The theme this month is blue and gold so we'd like to see any  christmas projects featuring these colours.

I must admit this colour scheme stumped me a little so I decided to keep it a quick and simple card.  I embossed the woodware tree stamp and sentiment onto blue card in gold and cut it out with a stitched rectangle.   I added a few small punched stars and then stuck it onto gold mirri card.

If you'd like to pop over to the challenge here you'll be able to see more inspiration from the rest of the DT.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

CraftyHazelNuts Christmas - Anything Goes
Simon Say Stamp Weds - Anything Goes
Creates and Makes - Anything Goes

AYLI DT - Non Card Project

Good Morning Everyone,

I'm back again, but not with a card this time as it's the start of a new challenge at As You Like It and the theme is for you to show us your favourite type of non-card project.

Before card making grabbed me cross stitch was a favourite hobby and this is one of my makes from a while ago.  It's a Heritage cross stitch kit but not sure of the name.

This is one picture I actually completed but haven't had framed as, since we've had a lot of work done on the house, it's now too modern for such an old fashioned picture.  I suppose I could put it in my craft room though.  I am ashamed to say I do have quite a few unfinished cross stitch projects, large ones, so if I do anything now it has to be something small that I can do while watching tv.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

CWTCUTIES DT - SNOWMEN

Morning Everyone,

I hope you are having a good Bank Holiday weekend.  We had a day of rain here yesterday, we went for our dog walk in the morning as the forecast stated rain at noon, but it came early and we were soaked!

It's time for another challenge at Christmas with the Cuties and the theme this time is Snowmen.

We are sponsored by Bugaboo stamps for this challenge and they have kindly provided the team with images.  I used the snowman blocks for my red and white card.  I've cut the blocks separately and searched in my red folder for scraps of card to mat them on.  It's amazing how many different shades of one colour you can get.  These little squares have been coloured with copics and stuck to a white stitched square of hammered white paper which matches the card.  The red outer die I think is a Spellbinders, also using a snippet from my folder.  I've also added liquid pearls, glitter and little pom poms to their hats.

I hope you can join us for this challenge and there will be a prize for the lucky winner from the sponsors.

You can pop over to the challenge here to see the inspiration from the rest of the DT.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

August Rudolph Days - Anything Christmas
Pixie's Snippets Playground #333 - snippets used - all the red card and white square
Crafty Creations #373 - Anything Goes
Creative Craft Cottage - No patterned paper

Thank you for visiting and I hope the sun is shining where ever you are.

BLACK & WHITE +1 - AYLI DT

Good Morning Everyone,

I don't seem to be posting much lately do I?  Not sure why but I just seem to be able to manage my DT cards and that's about it at the moment.

Anyway, it's time for another challenge at As You Like It and the theme this fortnight is to show us a project using black and white plus one other colour, (I think skin's allowed as an extra).

I knew I wanted to go with my fave colour of purple as the extra, but must say it was a bit of a conundrum for me as to what sort of card to make.  In the end I used one of my new house mouse stamps called Painted Poppies, which I coloured with copics.   I couldn't  use any other colours so I left the grass and leaves uncoloured for the little mouse to paint when he'd finished the flowers!

The papers have been cut out with stitched dies and I've added some stitched ribbon and black enamel dots as embellishments.

The sponsor of this challenge is Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez
who is providing a prize of 3 images from her store:

If you'd like to pop over to the challenge here you'll be able to see the inspiration from the rest of the DT.

Challenges I'd like to enter:

2 Crafty Critter Crazies - Anything Goes
That's Crafty - Animal Magic
Creative Fingers - Anything Goes

FUR OR FEATHERS? - AYLI DT

Good Morning Everyone,

I'm back again.  This time it is for the start of a new challenge at As You Like It and we would like to see projects with your favourite of either Fur or Feathers (and don't forget to tell us why please).

For me it is fur, both in real life and for colouring.  I love cute animals, they can be so soft and cuddly and there are many more images to choose from too.

For my card I have chose a cute Lee Holland kitten image and coloured him with copics.  I have used a Lawn Fawn mini scalloped edge die and also a Joanna Sheen flower edger die.  This one was added as an afterthought so I've hidden the join with the pink gingham ribbon.  I added a sparkle pen to the ribbon on the presents, which nearly ruined the card as too much came out and leaked where it shouldn't so I had to put a grey border around the image to hide it, but I think it's turned out ok.

This is a nice easy challenge so I hope you can join us and if you'd like to pop over here you'll be able to see the lovely cards from the rest of the DT.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

2 Crafty Critter Crazies - Anything Goes
Crafting by Designs - Aug. Anything Goes
Whimsy Stamps - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
Colour Crazy Craft - Anything Goes
Little Miss Muffet - Anything Goes

Thank you for visiting and have a lovely weekend.
