SHAPED CARDS AT ALLSORTS

Morning Everyone,

We have a new challenge starting at Allsorts where Christine has chosen the theme of Shaped cards (anything but square) which runs alongside Anything Goes.

I have used Spellbinders arched dies for my Christmas card.  I need to get on with a few Christmas cards as I think I only had one left from last year.

Two pieces of the bottom layer were cut and the back one scored about three quarters of an inch from the top and they were glued together.  I have cut out snippets of glittery paper for the pine trees die which is from Memory box and the outlines from gold mirri card.  The sentiment is heat embossed in gold and is from an old LOTV set.  A mat of gold mirri card was added for the middle layer.

There are two prizes available from AALL and Create

I hope you can join us and you can see the rest of the DT inspiration here.

Have a lovely weekend.  It certainly looks as though it's going to be a beautiful sunny day here.

BRIGHT OR PASTEL COLOURS?

Morning Everyone,

Do you prefer pastel or bright colours on your projects? That is the new theme of our challenge over at As You Like It

I do like both, but for youngsters I prefer bright, especially against a white background which makes the colours stand out more.  For my card I have used an old Avery Elle birthday balloon set which I bought pre-loved.  The stars are heat embossed in gold and I've added a few enamel dots too.

It took quite a few goes before I was happy with the stamping of the balloons so I've come to the conclusion that it would possibly be easier to stamp them on scrap pieces of white card and fussy cut, which is what I had to do with the red one.

I hope you can play along with your pastels or brights and you can see the rest of the DT inspiration here.

Thank you for visiting and I will see you soon,

IN THE GARDEN

Morning Everyone,

We have a new challenge starting over at Allsorts and the theme alongside Anything Goes is "In the Garden".

This gave me the chance to use two sets of unused dies,  The Greetery hollyhocks die and Honey Bee stamps wagon wheel.  I die cut the leaves and stems from white snippets and inked in green, but the flowers were all cut from snippets of coloured card and shaded in their centres.  The wagon wheel was die cut and when they were all assembled I added them to an embossed brick wall, which is a Stampin Up folder.

The sky was stencilled with Bashful Blue SU ink and a MFT stencil.

There are two prizes of Lavinia stamps:

I would like to enter:
Snippets Playground - All flowers were snippets

I might go in the garden later to do a bit of tidying.  Hubby will be at football so I will be having what we jokingly call a "luxury day".   Whatever you're doing this weekend I hope it's a good one and the weather is kind.

SIMPLE OR FUSSY?

 Morning Everyone,

We have the start of a new challenge today over at As You Like It where we are asking whether you prefer  your makes to be simple or fussy.

I am an in between person really, but when it comes to a "big" birthday or close female family I like to go that bit extra and make them more fussy.  This card was for my daughter and I coloured the image, which is a Stamping Bella one called Bedelia and Betsy go for a walk, with copics.  The papers are all from old LOTV paper pads and I have added flowers and leaves to go with the papers. The sentiment came with the stamp and the little tags are from Mama Elephant.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I hope you can join us and have a good day whatever you may be doing.  We're looking after the grandson today as it's Easter holidays so I'm sure we will be kept busy.

I would like to enter:

Creative Moments - Bunnies and Blooms

See you soon,
