NO STAMPING

Good Morning Everyone,

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme this month is "No Stamping". 

This did take a bit of thinking about for me as I normally colour an image, so after a rummage through my dies this is the card I came up with.  I die cut a circle shape and used it as a stencil for the background, which is Speckled Egg Distress Oxide.  For the rest of the card I've used dies, using snippets of hammered cardstock and I've also coloured the sentiment with the same ink.  There's quite a bit of glitter on the tree and the snow but this hasn't come out very well in the photo.  Pearls and liquid pearls finish it off along with a sheet of DP for the backing.

There are 3 prizes this month as it is a year since the challenge was created so I hope you will be able to join in.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Good Morning Everyone,

This is a card I made for my daughter.  She recently bought a Ragdoll kitten and is besotted with him so I thought I would try and find a suitable image, which I did from Mo's Digital Pencil.

I've coloured the image with copics and the backing paper is from a Carta Bella pad.  The top sentiment is from LOTV and the bottom one a freebie from a magazine.  I added two little hearts covered in glossy accents to finish it off.

SPRING OR SUMMER?

 Good Morning All,

It's time for a new challenge over at As You Like it and this time the theme is "Spring or Summer" - which is your favourite?

Mine is definitely Spring.  I love it when everything in the garden is starting to bud and the little birds are busy building their nests and the older I get the more I prefer spring temperatures rather than being way too hot in the summer.  The last few days have been lovely here, but still getting chilly at night.

For my DT card I have used the cute House Mouse stamp called Crocus Nap.  I've had this for a while but never managed to get around to colouring it.  I have used copics and cut it out with a Spellbinders die.  The sentiment is an old LOTV one who just happen to be sponsors for this challenge with a prize for the lucky winner.

RAINBOW CHRISTMAS

 Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you've had a good weekend.  It was lovely yesterday and I managed to do quite a bit of gardening.  

When I saw the theme at CAS Christmas was Rainbow I thought I would have a play with this tree from Whimsy Stamps which I haven't used yet.

I heat embossed it in gold and coloured it with my Zig Clean colour brush markers.  I coloured the circles randomly but in the order of the colours of the rainbow from top to bottom.    The sentiment, which I thought fitted well, is from a Woodware stamp set. Two strips of gold mirri card finish it off.

CONIE FONG GUEST DT TAKE 3

 Good Morning Everyone,

I'm back with another card as Guest DT for Conie Fong using the cute Bunny Tulips which can be found here.

I have coloured with copics and used my inside/outside stitched circles on a piece of linen card.  The sentiment is from Gummiapan and I've cut it out twice with the bottom layer coloured green to match the gingham.

RAINING CATS & DOGS

 Good Morning Everyone,

Today is the start of a new challenge over at The Cutie Pie challenge and the theme is "Raining Cats & Dogs".

EMBOSSING OR STENCILLING?

Good Morning Everyone,

It's time for a new challenge at As You Like It and this time we are asking which is your favourite between embossing or stencilling.   

I don't use embossing folders much, but I do love to heat emboss flower images.  It gives me a chance to practice with my Zig Clean Colour brush markers, which I don't use often enough.  I have used MFT Flowers in Bloom, heat embossed in gold and coloured, but I'm not totally happy with how it's turned out.  I don't like the background around the stems much and I've overworked the red flower, but seeing as it was a last minute make for the challenge, I didn't have time to make another.  I will have to have another go sometime as I do love this stamp.

TREES AT SPARKLES CHRISTMAS

 Good Morning Everyone,

As it is the 1st of the month it is time for a new challenge over at Sparkles Christmas and I have chosen the theme this time as Trees.  

For my DT card I have used a HoneyDoo stamp embossed in gold and then very carefully, as it isn't watercolour paper, painted with my Gansai Tambi paints in different shades of gold.  The sentiment comes with the stamp and I've also heat embossed that in gold.   A couple of sequins and little gold stars finish it off.
