GNOMES AT CCC

 Morning Everyone,

I hope you've had a lovely Christmas.  Ours has been very quiet. We had the family round on Christmas Eve and after that they all went their separate ways to in laws etc.

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme this month is Gnomes.

For my card I have used a cute gnome from Whimsy stamps coloured with copics.  I have used oddments of paper from an old LOTV pad and added a few tiny pearls and a glitter pen to the star.  I'm not very happy with the photo as it's making the papers look a bit wonky, but it doesn't look like that in real life.

You can pop over to the CCC blog here to see the inspiration from the rest of the team and you have until
10th January to enter.

I would like to enter:

Have a good rest of the week.

For my card I have used the Snow Bird stamp from Stampendous coloured with copics and cut out with a spellbinders Hemstitch rectangle die. I have used a stencil and texture paste for the snow and also added glitter and glossy accents to the snow and berries.

MERRY & BRIGHT

 Morning Everyone,

A last minute entry into the November Rudolph Days challenge.

This is the Christmas Icons stamp from Simon Says coloured with various pens, including glitter pens, and with a die cut sentiment added.  I must say it was quite relaxing sitting colouring this.

FAVOURITE NON TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS ANIMAL?

 Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking you to share your projects with your favourite non-traditional Christmas animal (and it is a penguin free zone).

I have chosen these kitties from Gerda Steiner. They are so mischievous and make a fun card for cat owners.  I also love her Christmas carolling kittens, but haven't got round to using them this year.

I have coloured with copics and used a sentiment from a Stamping Bella set.  I have added glitter to their hats and a glitter pen to the baubles but, as usual, this doesn't show up well on the photo.  The red strip on the edge of the paper is some very thin ribbon.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

with a voucher for the lucky winner

I hope you can join us and you can pop over to the challenge here to the see the inspiration from the rest of the DT.

I would like to enter:

WASHI-TAPE

 Good Morning Everyone,

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme this month is to use washi-tape.

I have used my Simon Says Stamp reindeer window die surrounded by a sentiment from MFT and with three strips of Christmas washi tape.  This would be an easy card for batch making as long as you get the tape straight!

This is a second version using the teal as the main colour.

There's a really cute Christmas stamp set on offer as the prize and we are having a DT call for anyone interested in joining a Christmas challenge.  Just pop over here for the full details.

FOUR LEGGED FRIENDS

 Morning Everyone,

It's time for a new challenge at The Cutie Pies and the theme is "Four Legged Friends".

For quickness I used an old pre-coloured image from Lili of the Valley and matted with silver mirror card.  The paper is a gorgeous green which I came across by accident after I'd cut another piece for the purpose.  It went so well with the green in the image I just had to use it.  I've added some pretty glittery ribbon, clear champagne bubble and a few pearls.  The sentiment is from a Penny Black set.

I hope you can join us this month and you can see the inspiration from the rest of the DT here.

NON TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS COLOURS

 Morning Everyone,

It's the start of a new challenge at As You Like It and we are asking to see your favourite non-traditional Christmas colours.

I have chosen pink as I think it's such a pretty change to reds and greens and it goes well with both silver and gold.

I did have a bit of brain fog when trying to decide on the design for the card and it seemed to take me ages, but with the help of my mini scalloped edgers I got there in the end!  I've stamped my Gummiapan reindeer in silver, cut out with the relating die and heat embossed the sentiment.

The sponsor for this challenge is Lawn Fawn with a voucher for the lucky winner.

I would like to enter:

70th BIRTHDAY

 Morning Everyone,

I thought I'd join in with the celebrations theme at Allsorts for their 700th challenge with this card I've made for a friend's birthday using the Balloon Bouquet and twisted crepe dies from The Greetery at Seven Hills Crafts.

I stamped the main part of the balloon in pink onto a snippet of white and that leaves all the gaps for the flowers which, with the leaves, are stamped in four different stages. It's not always easy to get them lined up properly and I needed a few goes at it before I was satisfied.  The lilac balloon was coloured with copics.  The sentiment has been heat embossed in silver and I've added glitter to the crepe dies and the number 70.

I would like to enter:

Allsorts - Celebrations

Snippets Playground - Snippets were used for the balloons, twisted crepe and no. 70

FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS IMAGE OR ANIMAL

 Good Morning Everyone,

It is the start of a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking for your favourite image or animal for Christmas cards.

I do like to make a few cards with Christmas tree images.  A lot of the people I send cards to aren't really the cute animal types so I like to make some cards more suitable for them and this Stampin Up tree, which I have heat embossed in copper, is my favourite.  I have used copper pearlescent card for the mats and added pretty ribbon to match.

I would like to enter:

My shopping trip yesterday went quite well with a few small presents bought.  It's raining quite heavily here at the moment so it will be a stay at home day today.  Thank you for your visit and have a good day.

WHITE ON WHITE

Good Morning Everyone,

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme this month is "White on White".

For my DT card I have used a Spellbinders poinsettia die cut with snippets in white (of which I have a drawer full), foliage from a Sizzix Tim Holtz set and a Merry Christmas die.  I have edged the poinsettia leaves in glitter and added pearls here and there.  For the bottom half of the card I have used some Stampin Up speciality paper which is raised and has a velvety feel.  The vellum backing of the paper makes it look a little dark, but it is quite white in real life. The two halves of the card are divided by white ribbon.

Remember, you must display this logo to be eligible for the prize draw, which this month is a paper pad and matching stamp.

I would like to enter:

Snippets Playground - Flower, foliage and sentiment were all snippets
Festive Friday - Anything Christmas
Crafty Catz - AG/option ribbon or twine
Christmas Kickstart - Poinsettias and posies
Crafts Galore - Anything Goes
ABC Christmas - V for velvet

I am venturing to the shops today to start having a look round for some of the smaller presents we usually buy for Christmas.  Let's hope it's a fruitful trip!  Thank you for visiting and have a good day.

TRADITIONAL OR CONTEMPORARY

 Morning Everyone,

There's a new challenge starting today at As You Like It and we are asking whether you prefer to make traditional or contemporary style Christmas cards.

I do love both styles but I have chosen contemporary for this challenge as it gives me an opportunity to use one of my unused stamp sets.  This one was won in the Snippets Playground Christmas draw last year so it's about time I used it!

I wasn't quite sure what to do at first so I stamped the sheep onto copic friendly paper, coloured them with my markers and fussy cut them out.  Once I had decided I stamped the tree onto the stitched rectangle, glued the sheep in place.  The background paper is from a Doodlebug Christmas pad.

 Morning Everyone,

I hope you've had a good weekend.  I'm back today with a post for the start of a new challenge over at the Cutie Pie challenge where the theme is "Think Pink", but also must be cute too.

I have used a cute image kindly supplied by the sponsors, Polkadoodles, and it can be purchased here.  I have coloured with copics and added two strips of paper, the sentiment which is in silver metallic and is from Simon Says Stamp.

I hope you will be able to join us and there will be a voucher from Polkadoodles for the luck winner.

SNOW ON WINTER PROJECTS

 Morning Everyone,

It's time for a new challenge over at As You Like It and we are asking you to show us your favourite way of adding snow to your projects.

I usually draw a few lines with a glue pen or fill in areas such as on the car and then add white glitter.  I love to see a bit of sparkle on Christmas cards and glitter is the easiest way for me.

For my card I have used a Stamping Bella stamp and coloured with copics.  The sheet of DP is from Whimsy stamps.  A very simple card, but I love how the DP (in real life) matches the colour of the car.    Bit of a fiddly image to colour with all those lights etc, but I got there in the end.

RIBBON OR TWINE

 Morning Everyone,

It's time for my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme is use Ribbon or Twine.

For my DT card I have used Clearly Besotted pudding stamps,  cut them out with their respective dies and added them to stitched squares with small red pearls for the berries.  The sentiment is from the set and I've added ribbon with Merry Christmas running along it, although that's not very clear in the photo.

There is a waterfall card kit given as the prize for the challenge and the closing date is October 11th, so still plenty of time to enter.

I would like to enter:

BOUQUET OF THANKS

 Morning Everyone,

This is a card made with a Simon Says stamp set called Bouquet of Thanks.

I have heat embossed in gold onto watercolour paper and then coloured the flowers with my Zig markers in brights.  It was a bit of an experiment trying out different colours. The sentiment is also heat embossed and from a Stampin Up set.  I found a snippet of orange paper to match and layered everything onto gold pearlescent card.

METALLIC OR GLITTER CARD STOCK

Morning Everyone,

There is a new challenge starting over at As You Like It and we are asking you to showcase a project using your favourite of either Metallic or Glitter card stock.

I use a lot more metallic than glitter, mainly because I tend to use glitter card only on Christmas cards, but when I heat emboss something mirror card goes so well with it.

For my DT card I have used a Stampin Up Magnolia stamp heat embossed in gold and coloured very lightly in pink and green.  Gold mirri card has been used for the mats and I've just added 6 glitter dots in the same colours.  Very simple, but I am pleased with how it turned out.

I haven't added a sentiment as not yet decided what to use it for.

FAVOURITE SHAPE OF CARD

Good Morning Everyone,

Today is the start of a new challenge at As You Like It and we are asking you to share cards using your favourite shape.  This can be square, rectangle or any other shape.

I normally use ready made card blanks for my square and rectangular cards, which are the shapes I use the most, but when I want a change this Go Kreate die is my favourite.  I think it makes a card that little bit different and special.

I have used an image kindly provided by our sponsor, Amanda Jayne Designs, called Daisy Sitting Among Flowers.  I have coloured with copics and used old papers from LOTV.

For my card I have used a stamp from Whipper Snapper called Prescott coloured with copics and fussy cut  to add to the little snowy scene.  Glitter has been added to his hat  and skate and to the snow and trees.  Finished off with a die cut sentiment and silver mirri card for the mat.

There's still plenty of time to enter until Sept 13th when the challenge finishes.

CAS CHRISTMAS

 Morning All,

I've made a CAS Christmas card featuring a Penny Black stamp called Pinecone Perch.

It has been stamped on copic friendly paper and coloured with copics, cut out with a mini scalloped die and added the heat embossed sentiment which also comes with the stamp.  I placed it directly onto the white hammered base, but it didn't look quite right so I added a red mat for a bit of colour.  I would have rounded the edges, but I seemed to have lost my corner punch somewhere!  Searched high and low, but can't find it.  I'm sure it'll turn up somewhere unexpected.

Morning All,

It's the start of a new challenge at As You Like It and this time we are asking you to share a project containing your favourite domestic animal.

My fave is definitely a dog.  We have two of them and they are so loving and loyal.  For my card I have used an old LOTV stamp called Buckets of Love, I think.  I have coloured him with copics on a snippet of copic friendly paper and used checked paper to match.  The Sending die has been cut 3 times and is from Simon Says Stamp.   A few little bubbles have been added and glossy accents to the water, which you can't really see in the photo.

FAVOURITE AFRICAN OR AUSTRALIAN WILD ANIMAL

 Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at As You Like It and we are asking to see your favourite African or Australian Wild Animal.

I have chosen elephants, they are such gentle giants, don't deserve to be hunted for their ivory and I love to see baby elephants, they are so cute.  I have used this image from Digistamp Boutique (no longer trading) together with the sentiment.  I have coloured with copics and used my frame dies from Clearly Besotted, layered up twice for a bit of depth.

The sponsor for the challenge is Lawn Fawn with a voucher for the lucky winner.

PATTERNED PAPER

 Morning Everyone,

This is my reminder post for Christmas Craft Creations where the theme this month is Patterned Paper.

For my card I decided to cut into 2 co-ordinating sheets from a pad not used before from Wild Rose Studio.  I die cut 4 stitched squares and adhered them to some teal card. The sentiment was heat embossed in white onto vellum.  I've torn the edges and added across the centre.  The photo doesn't show the sentiment up very well, but in real life it is a lot clearer.
There are 3 prizes on offer this time and there's still plenty of time to enter.  The deadline is Tuesday 9th August so I hope you can join in with this easy theme.

SANTA BALLOON

 Afternoon All,

I like to try and enter the CAS Christmas card challenge each month and, although I am flying in at the last minute, this is my effort for July where the theme is Santa.

I've had these balloon images from Clearly Besotted for years and this is their first outing.  I stamped the images on the die cut rectangle and, because my pens didn't work well on that type of card, I stamped them again onto copic friendly card, coloured and fussy cut to adhere to the die cut.  The sentiment is from the same set.

I would like to enter:

FUR, FEATHERS OR SCALES

 Good Morning Everyone,

A new challenge is starting at As You Like It and we are asking which you prefer out of Fur, Feathers or Scales.

I have chosen fur both colouring wise and in real life.  There are so many cute images to colour and when our two dogs have been groomed they are just so soft and fluffy.

I have used a Whimsy stamps digi image called Christmas Mouse, coloured with copics.  I don't think the pens agree with the heat we've had lately as they weren't working that well and getting a bit sticky.

I cut a piece of white card the same size as the base and used snippets of Christmas papers in reds and greens for the background. I inked the edges of the stitched rectangle with a red pen and then adhered to the background.  The little snowflakes on the bauble were heat embossed in white.

The sponsor for this challenge is:

We hope you can join in and show us your favourite out of the 3 possibilities.

I would like to enter:

I have coloured up this cute little cheerleader from LOTV with copics.  It was for my niece who is 7 and goes to cheerleading classes.  I have used my large alphabet dies from Stampin Up and cut them with snippets of paper to match the image.

Red Squirrel

Hello All,

I'm pleased it has cooled down a bit here today. Yesterday was not good for me, much too hot.

I've been making a few cards lately to raise money for our local village hall and have been using pre-printed images for quickness.  This card is one of them.

The image and papers are from a Woodland Animals paper pad by Hunky-dory and I've used an old ready made sentiment with a scalloped circle behind. The pad is great for this type of thing as the papers match the images instead of having to rummage through your stash to find something to match, which is what often takes me longer than making the actual card!

I would like to enter:

Allsorts - All sorts of animals
Aud Sentiments - Anything Goes
Critter Crazy - Anything goes with a Critter

Thank you for visiting and have a good day.
