FAVOURITE PET AT AYLI

 Good Morning Everyone,

I'm back with my DT card for As You Like It where we are asking you to tell us what your favourite pet animal is.  Mine has to be a dog seeing as we have two of them and I've never owned a cat.

For my DT card I have used this cute image from Colorado Craft Company, coloured it with copics, and used snippets of red and green papers.

These are our two little boys, brothers from the same litter, but totally different personalities. Charlie on the left looks as though he's in need of a trim in this pic, but I thought he looked so cute sat on the edge of our little pond.  Buddy is on the right and they both love sitting on your knee.

ANYTHING GOES AT CCC

Good Morning Everyone,

This is my post for the reminder team at Christmas Craft Creations where this month it is Anything Goes. A nice easy theme and there are 5 prizes to be won too.

For my card I have used a Simon Says Stamp little reindeer die, cut from hammered card and backed with red.  I have stamped a few small snowflakes behind him and the two stripey strips are a stitched rectangle cut in half to add a bit more interest. I have also added glossy accents to his red nose.

This was the first card I made, but I wasn't too keen on the finished product so I had another attempt with the top one.

BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

It's been far too hot for me these last few days and when I started to use my copics one or two of them seemed to be really sticky and not working properly. I'm not sure if it is the heat that affected them, but  I decided to spend Sunday afternoon cleaning them all.  It must have taken me about 3 hours!

Instead of going back to the copics yesterday, I had a play with my Zig clean colour brush markers and this is what I finished up with.

This is a first inking of this Simon Says Stamp set.  I stamped in Versafine black on Bristol Smooth and then clear embossed it.  I've just used one pink marker for the flowers and blue grey for the leaves.  I very tentatively, because I've not done it before,  tried some ink splattering with a small brush and grey ink.  I added two sentiments from LOTV and a few silver sequins.

CONEFLOWERS

 Hi Everyone

I bought a die set last week and decided to have a play with it straight away, which isn't like me as I normally buy something and then take ages before I use it!

The set is the Coneflower Layered dies from Honey Bee and purchased from Dies to Die For.  I used pale lilac card for the petals and then coloured with 4 shades of violet copics.  The cones and leaves were cut in white card and then also coloured with copics.  The circular die is from Spellbinders, but I can't remember who the happy sentiment is made by. The little black 'birthday' is from LOTV. This was all added onto some pretty gingham paper with a purple mat.

I'll probably spend the rest of the day crafting, it is far too warm for me to do anything else I'm afraid.  I don't like to be out in the hot sun and especially not working in the garden!

FAVOURITE SHAPE OF CARD?

Good Morning Everyone,

It is time for a new challenge at As You Like It and we are asking you to showcase your favourite shape of card other than a square or rectangle.

I still love this Go Kreate shape although I don't use it as often as I should really.  I think it makes a card look that bit more special than my usual square, especially for occasions such as a new baby.

This card was for daughter's friend and they didn't know whether it was a boy or girl hence my choice of colours.  I have used a LOTV simply print  and just coloured the teddy with a marker and made the babygro a little darker too.  Lots of embellishments added to finish it off including the little tags from Mama Elephant and the heart die from Gummiapan.

I hope you will join us with all your different shapes and you can pop over here to see the fab cards from the rest of the DT.

WHITE POINSETTIA

Morning Everyone,

A quick post to share a CAS Christmas card.  I'm really trying to make my Christmas cards more cas and flat for posting this year.

This is a small 4 3/4" card where I have cut a stitched square and fussy cut 3 poinsettias from some Plush Poinsettia Specialty paper from Stampin Up.  The paper is lovely and they feel like felt.  I have heat embossed the sentiment in silver and matted onto some silver pearlescent card.

PAPER PIECING

Good Morning Everyone,

Only an hour late posting this!

It's time for a new challenge over at The Cutie Pies and the theme is "Paper Piece It".

For my DT card I have used a LOTV image called Grace - Beauty and have paper pieced her dress and ribbons.  The rest has been coloured with copics.  The flowered paper is from a First Edition pad and the purple pieces are left over bits from a previous card.  The sentiment is also LOTV.

So if you enjoy a bit of paper piecing and love 'cute' why not have a go and join us this month.

FAVOURITE TYPE OF STITCHING

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you are keeping well.  It is time for a new challenge at As You Like It and this time we would like to see a project with your favourite type of stitching.

For the majority of my cards I use stitched dies because I love how they make the edges look neat.  I do sometimes hand stitch, it just depends on the style of card.

I have made a new home card for my stepson who has been living with us for a few months till his new house was completed.  He moved into the house on his own after a break up and, with him living with us for a while, I cottoned onto his colour scheme for the furnishings etc.  That is why I chose to use these colours. The little house has been stamped and fussy cut and is from Stampin Up.
