ONE OR MORE LAYERS?

Good Morning Everyone,

The last day of February, I can't believe how fast it has gone and how lovely the weather has been this week too!

It is time for a new challenge at As You Like It and for this fortnight we would like you to showcase a project with your favourite amount of layers, either one or many (and why please).

I always make cards with more than one layer.  I do love the look of one layer cards (other people's), but I always want to add more to them and I have loads of patterned papers to use too!  For my card I have chosen a LOTV stamp called Clouds, coloured with copics,   and used papers from a pad called Baby Mine by Carta Bella.  I have hand stitched round the edges and used a Memory Box clouds die.  Enamel dots and a sentiment from LOTV finish it off.

The sponsor for this challenge is

Polkadoodles Ltd

I hope you can join in this fortnight and you can view the inspiration from the DT here.

I would like to enter these challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Weds - Anything Goes
Addicted to Stamps - Anything but a Square
Creative Fingers #158 - Anything Goes
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything Goes
Creative Moments - Anything Goes
If you give a crafter a Cookie - Baby

Thank you for taking the time to visit and for all your lovely comments from my last post.

CWTCUTIES - BEGINNING WITH B

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you had a good weekend and managed to do something you enjoy. I omitted to say thank you to Brenda last time I posted for becoming my latest follower, so thank you and I hope you enjoy seeing my makes.

It's time for our first challenge of the year over at Christmas with the Cuties and for this month we would like to see anything beginning with the letter B.

I've failed a bit in that I've only achieved two B's, Birds on a Branch (although I could say bobbles I suppose), but it was a stamp that I hadn't inked up before and wanted to use it.  It's a Wild Rose Studio stamp coloured with copics and I've added a few little glittery details in the two top corners with some die cut snowflakes and branches.  The papers are from LOTV.  I wasn't too keen on the bottom paper being plain so I've embossed a few clear snowflakes to add a bit of interest.  The sentiment, I think,  is from Digistamp Boutique.

Kraft card was used for the mats and these are the snippets I've used for this card.  I often cut the middles out of my kraft layers as the card gets a bit bulky otherwise, so I end up with quite a few snippets.

Our sponsor this month is:

with a prize for the lucky winner

I hope you can join us this month to get you started with those Christmas cards.

I would like to enter these challenges:

February Rudolph Days - Anything Christmas
Pixies Snippets Playground - snippets used are the kraft pieces, sentiment, snowflakes and white branch.
Aud Sentiments - Bingo and a Sentiment (embossing, Stamp, Faux Stitching)
Papercraft Challenges - All the Critters
Stamping Sensations - All things Bright and Beautiful

Thank you for visiting and all your lovely comments. I will be back later in the week.

BIRTHDAY OR XMAS?

Good Morning All,

It's time for a new challenge at As You Like It and for this fortnight we'd like you to showcase either a Birthday or Christmas project, whichever is your favourite, (and don't forget to tell us why please).

I've chosen birthday, it's normally Christmas, but I think I've overdosed a bit on the Christmas cards so I've enjoyed making birthday cards lately, plus the fact that the majority of our family birthdays all seem to be near the beginning of the year!  This one is for a nephew and I think the images will suit him quite well.  They are from a Maja Design paper pad, Denim & Friends, together with the papers and are great for an easy masculine card.  I've added stars and twine and the sentiment is from Kaisercraft.

The sponsor for the challenge is

with a lovely prize for the lucky winner

I hope you'll be able to join us and if you pop over to the challenge here you'll be able to see the wonderful designs from the rest of the DT.

I would like to enter these challenges:

Ally's Angels - Anything Goes
Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
Creative Fingers #157 - Anything Goes
Crafting by Designs - Anything Goes
Penny's Paper Crafty #417 - Anything Goes

Thank you for visiting. I hope you are able to leave a comment as I do love to read them.  Have a good weekend.

HOW MANY CATS?

Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you are keeping well. I know a lot of people have been down with flu like symptoms, coughs etc., so I am keeping my fingers crossed that we stay free from the lurgy here.

This is a card for the daughter-in-law's birthday.  She loves cats and has 3 of them so I bought this stamp especially for her.

It is a Stamping Bella stamp, Tiny Townie Courtney loves Kitties, which I coloured with copics.  The card itself is fairly simple with papers from an old LOTV pad, navy ribbon and tags from Mama Elephant. The mini scalloped die is from MFT.

I would like to enter these challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
Penny Black at Allsorts - Anything Goes with option of tags
Sir Stampalot - All Things Bright & Beautiful (all creatures)
Southern Girls - Animal Antics
Crafty Friends - Anything Goes

A short and sweet post today, but will be back on Thursday with a DT card.  Thank you for your visit and I hope you will be able to leave a comment.

THANK YOU DI

Good Morning Everyone,

I've made this card for Di as part of the Blog Hop organised by Darnell to thank Di for all her hard work running Pixie's Snippets playground for the last 7 years.

Compared to some I'm fairly new to the snippets playground and didn't discover it until July 2017 and Di always gives new playmates a lovely welcome.  In fact, when I did join and heard about Parsnip I imagined him to be a little bundle of white fluffy dog like a Westie or something, but I soon found out he wasn't, and now she does have a little bundle of fluff by way of Dudley!  I do love to hear of his antics and Di's posts on a Sunday morning are always an enjoyable read.

I thought it was a good opportunity to use my new Stitched Blooms dies by MFT for a thank you card and to use a few snippets for the latest challenge.  The snippets are the white centre circle, the sentiment and the lemon flowers.  Needless to say, by using the same type of card for the other colours, I've made more snippets for my folders!  I've made the circular card with my Spellbinder Grand Nestabilities dies and the sentiment die is also from a Spellbinders set.

I would like to enter these challenges:

Pixies Snippets Playground
Creative Knockouts #283 - Flower Power
Creatalicious #156 - Anything Goes
The Flower Challenge - Use your latest stamps or dies
Incy Wincy Designs - Make It Girly

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a good week.

SPARKLES CHRISTMAS - POINSETTIA

Good Morning Everyone,

I'm back today with a card for the new challenge at Sparkles Christmas and this month we would like to see Poinsettia on your project.

For my card I have used Neenah Desert Storm which I think is a first for me and stamped a Penny Black poinsettia called Sparkler.  I have heat embossed it in gold and coloured with copics and the sentiment, also embossed in gold, on vellum is from a Whimsy stamps set.  I have added a few gold metallic dots around the image and gold pearl drops in the centre and that's about it.

I hope you'll be able to join us this month and you can see the inspiration from the rest of the DT  here.

I would like to enter these challenges:

Through the Craft Room Door - Anything Goes
DisDigiDesigns - Emboss It
C.R.A.F.T. - Anything Goes
Creatalicious - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp Weds - Anything Goes

I hope you have a lovely weekend and manage to stay warm wherever you are.
