SHABBY CHIC

Hi Everyone

When the super talented Bev Rochester posted this card I commented that it was ideal inspiration for my mum in law's birthday and this is what I came up with.

I've tried to make it as different as I could, but it's not easy with such a large chipboard frame as this one, which I bought from Live and Love Crafts.  It was too big to go on a 6" square card so I had to make one slightly larger than that (but not a square one).

The paper is LOTV which I distressed and stitched round the edges, a first for me, but it came out well on my machine.  I then tore the two corner pieces and slid a bit of lace under one, but you can't see it very well.  I glittered the frame and stuck on the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, as well as the little dragonflies.  I stamped two separate sentiments onto vellum and attached it to the middle.  I did have a go at putting some gesso on but chickened out as I didn't want to mess it up after it had taken me ages to do so you probably can't see it!

Her birthday's on Saturday so I hope she likes it.

The challenges I would like to enter are:

Live and Love Crafts - Sprinkles of Summer
Noor Design - Anything Goes option chipboard - I hope it's ok to enter this one
Simon Says Weds. Challenge - Anything Goes
Bunny Zoe's  -  Summer Florals
Sketchy Challenges - Summertime theme
CCC Digi Creations - Release the glitter
Creatalicious Challenge - Anything Goes/add flowers
Inky Chicks - Use 5 or more flowers

STILL CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Hi Everyone

I have another Christmas card to share.  I'm certainly forging ahead with them, so hopefully will be well organised this year (not!).

I still haven't looked into putting a watermark on my cards yet, but I don't think that matters at the minute.  I stamped the two LOTV penguins and coloured with copics, then layered them onto MFT stitched circles which were coloured round the edges to match.  I glittered the fur of penguin's hats, but this doesn't show very well. There are a few pearls on the Memory box Frostyville die and I also coloured some small oddments of paper to put underneath.  The LOTV sentiment was popped onto some foam tape and a blue ribbon added.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Winter Wonderland - Use Die cuts/punches
Country View Crafts - Have Fun with Circles
Sir Stampalot - Anything Goes with a stamp and ribbon
Christmas at Sweet Stamping - Anything Goes
Christmas Cards All Year Round - Anything Goes
Fussy and Fancy Friday - Christmas in July
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas - Use a Sentiment
Ribbon Girl - Use Any Image

That's all for now.  Thank you for visiting, your comments are much appreciated.

ONE LAYER CARD

Hi Everyone

When I saw the challenge at Penny Black Saturday was for a one layer card I thought I'd have a go as I've never made one before.  Below is what I came up with, but in hindsight I think this may be my one and only one layer card!  It was my second attempt and was so nerve wracking not to make a mistake, especially at the end when I stamped the sentiment!

I stamped the Penny Black Softly stamp in Memento London Fog and then coloured it in with a mixture of Prismacolour and Inktense Watercolour pencils.  I scored round the edges and gave it a bit of liquid pearl treatment to make it look a bit more interesting.  I actually only meant to score down one side and along the bottom but I made a silly mistake and scored along the top so it had to be all the way round.  One line top & bottom and two on the sides.  The sentiment is from a Stamping Up Set.  I quite like how it turned out in the end, but I don't think I'll be doing another one in a hurry :)

I would like to enter the following:

Penny Black Saturday - One Layer
Penny Black At Allsorts - Anything goes with a stamp
Bizzy Becs   -  Anything Goes
Ribbon Girl - Anything Goes
Creative Moments - Anything Goes

Thank you for visiting.  I enjoy reading your comments, it is much appreciated.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY

Hi Everyone

I have another Christmas card to show.  I know it's only July, but I do like making Christmas cards, possibly better than any other type.  This is a digi stamp from Di's Digistamps which I've had for a while and never used.

I used Copics to colour and LOTV paper (retired).  Two of the flowers I had to colour myself as I didn't have any suitable red ones and I also used two lovely frosted berries and a tiny fir cone from the Ribbon Girl.  I added glitter to the snow and mouse's hat and also heat embossed the sentiment in silver.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges;

ABC Christmas Challenge - M is for Mice
Winter Wonderland - 3 different embellies (glitter, flowers, ribbon)
Simon Says Stamp Weds. - Anything Goes
The Ribbon Girl Blog - Anything Goes
Di's Digistamp - Christmas in July

Thank you for visiting and any comments are appreciated.
